  • 3:13 sexual abuse and lesbian rape acts!

  • She should focus in more important issues than the oil sands.... she too smart to deal with environmentalists

  • This damn tar sands oil is contaminating the drinking water just by being left on it's own. Taking it out of the ground and shipping it to where it can be used is doing the environment a favor.

It is by FAR much less harmful to the environment to extract this oil from the tar sands than to ship middle eastern oil (which supports terrorism), from across the sea, and having to bomb one or two of those countries to smithereens every decade or so in order to keep the supply steady.

  • Who is this crackpot (i.e., Naomi) anyways? Why is anyone listening to her? She certainly doesn't speak for the majority of Canadians - not even close. I apologize for Naomi on behalf of my fellow Canadians for this display of complete stupidity. I notice the police arrested her - I not sure why - I didn't know that being stupid in public was a crime. However, I sure hope the American police keep her out of sight for a long time - well I can dream can't I.

  • They put the cuffs on her at 2:45.. What a wing nut.

  • like most other protests...go back to school or get a job. the rest of us cant protest because we are at work. nice that we pay for your student loans or welfare out of our paychecks. amazing how many protesters who enter the workforce change their tune once they start paying taxes for people like this to "do good"

  • @hopsricebarley Keep stereotyping the protesters. Your judgemental superiority working out for you? Keep it up. Naomi Klein contributes more to society than your feeble squawking about "taxes". Perhaps you committed civic and intellectual suicide when you "entered the workforce" but that isn't true of all people.

  • @zammmerjammer check out where and how she lives. then see how much she hurts for the cause. i was raised to work and contribute and dont complain...even though the taxes i pay dont help me. thank you by the way for helping you.

  • @hopsricebarley We help each other. But again, how's that smug superiority working out for you? You want more shucking and jiving from the rest of us? Do you get real mad when we don't show you enough gratitude?

Gratitude for what? "work and contribute and don't complain"? You think those are admirable qualities? You mustn't have any slaves or serfs or women in your ancestry, otherwise they could explain to you that without "complaining" their situations would have never got any better.

  • @zammmerjammer dont want gratitude...just get a brain idiot...go protest violence against women...or sexual exploitation...or some worthy cause. and ride a bike to it. stay the fuck away from cars busses and planes...they all use oil. hypocrites are everywhere

  • @hopsricebarley Right. Because those things are totally separate. How are women's rights doing in oil-producing countries where the government is a shambles due to the interference of the petroleum industry? Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

And hunbuns, adults don't call other adults "idiots" because they disagree. Grow up.

  • @hopsricebarley Just to give you a clue, which you obviously don't have... I have a full time job, pay taxes and still find time to go to protests! What's your excuse? Oh yeah, You're okay with the destruction of the ecosystem! Idiot!

  • @rodneypopper666 i paid 37k in taxes last year. enough to support quite a few protesters (welfare). And maybe some college would tune you in to the "destruction" of the ecosystem. fool. oh yeah...drink the kool-aid about global warming and it being a manmade cause...school your self and learn.

  • @hopsricebarley ..Oh you paid $37k in taxes and you like to brag about it. Wow! I'm impressed! Let me guess... work in the resources sector? All protesters are on welfare? Typical smug A-hole-speak. Went to college? Wow! Impressed again. Just because daddy gave you money for college doesn't make you smart. Sounds to me like you have some serious issues.

It's not too late... Get a gun, put the barrel in your mouth, and do the honorable thing! Thanks in advance.

  • @rodneypopper666 Most people who go to college pay for it themselves, so it is very likely you are dead wrong about him. Who looks like the smug asshole now? He can't get a gun and shoot himself, not after your kind outlaws them because they're about as dangerous as drowning.

  • @theredscourge If you were smart enough to use a gun, I would suggest you do the same! It's very likely that you wouldn't know which hole to stick it in!

What do you know about "my kind"? You're obviously a typical You-Tube idiot.

  • @rodneypopper666 I assure you I am far from typical. No matter what you say to me, I would not be sitting here wishing you'd kill yourself, which is more than you can say. Unfortunately for some, I will always disagree with them, because I make an attempt to pursue the facts before I come to my conclusions, as I do not enjoy being wrong or giving people bad advice. Most of the environmental bullshit you here is wrong, though some of it is right.

  • @rodneypopper666 Fun fact, the founder of Greenpeace, Patrick Moore, left Greenpeace because he found it was being taken over by corrupt politicos who wanted to use the pro--environmental to suit their personal agenda, such as Al Gore, who tried to get the US government to give his company a monopoly on an American cap and trade industry. Transferring money all over the planet is does not reduce carbon emissions, it just means businesses have to deplete more resources to make a profit.

  • @theredscourge We can "Fun fact" each other all day long, but the truth is that we are going to deplete our natural gas reserves just to get the "oil" out of the sand. Couldn't we manage our resources more sustainably?

  • @rodneypopper666 We probably could, but we must be careful to weigh our alternatives. Usually the reason something costs more to do is because it depletes more resources to do so. Not always, but often. I'd like nothing more than for every long distance vehicle in the world to be converted to compressed natural gas and for us to only use shale gas that can be extracted safely, and for the rest of vehicles to be converted to either hybrid or electric but it can't happen overnight.

  • @rodneypopper666 Currently all the oil rigs off the coast of African nations burn off all their natural gas merely because the corrupt local governments make it impossible to build the infrastructure required to recover and sell the natural gas. They have all sorts of protectionist laws that make it impossible to bring in the require resources or manpower to build such infrastructure, which is why international companies operating in Africa almost solely drill for oil offshore.

  • @rodneypopper666 my daddy was a firefighter till he died from it. i paid my own way through college by working (yeah a dirty word). i do work in the construction sector but no not in resources and nowhere near the sands. though i dont wish you to commit suicide....funny how protesters want their meal tickets to do such things.....i do wish you would find a job and contribute. kumbaya and shit...enjoy

  • @hopsricebarley I sometimes wonder how someone seemingly educated as yourself could be so wrong-headed and ignorant but then I remember that the mainstream media is bought and paid for by our corporate masters. Try reading some alternative sources of media. PS I don't want you to kill yourself, I only hope that you are not too stuck in your ways to get out of the "Corporate Media Lie Machine"

Yes I have a job, and pay taxes... as I've stated above! Shows how little you retain!

  • @rodneypopper666 go watch some more micheal moore and drink the kool aid idiot

  • I live in Alberta and have been to Fort McMurray many times. General knowledge and studies has shown that the bitumen has been polluting ground water for thousands of years. Also, the ground naturally catches on fire (lightening strikes etc) and can burn for decades. Nature's joke on us. Development of these oil sands creates only 5% more CO2 than conventional oil production and 30% LESS than fracking. Or are you only interested in facts that support your beliefs.

  • Why is she being arrested? What did she do that was illegal?

  • @rosiethebear300 Speaking out against the oil industry.

  • Why was she arrested? There was absolutely nothing going on that looked violent or dangerous...

  • A useless stupid woman,if there wasnt a market filled with retards who patronize her hack ideas-she would be doing MILF Porn.

  • Naomi, compare the carbon cost of the last 10 years of military occupation to the last 10 years in the oil sands. I'd like to see your spin on that.

  • I'm a Canadian and Noami Klein does not speak for me. So much of what she says are lies. She is selling fear and getting very rich off of it.

  • @52tincup Lying ignoramus!

  • Propaganda and hysteria-but what can I say, it obviously works. Facts, information and truth mean nothing. Did it ever occur to anyone that the tarsands were developed by NATURE and are polluting the environment (water) naturally. Mining the tarsands will result in reclaimed and reforested land which will be healthier once an area is mined out and reclaimed. CO2 during mining and processing is only 5% higher than light crude production and 20% less than fracking (currently going on in the US).

  • @waynewin the pollution of water doesn't occur because water mixes with tar sands 'naturally'. you need to extract oil from the sand. and this is what you use clean water for which is later dumped into the streams&pollutes ground water. learn the facts.

  • Sending troops all over the world to restore democracy and finally the 'democracy' has to deal with free speech and protests back home too!

  • Unlike Iraq, you don't have to lie your country into war to get this oil.And how many peopole died for the bennifit of exxon mobil?

  • lol how great is America that crushes every people living in it and it is hated by everybody else in the world congrats.

  • @tsuikjoshiomatsu don't try to deflect your guilt, you're from Japan one of the most hated anti-environment criminal nations on earth. You're the same type of massive environmental world destroyer as Canada. Japan the world's whale poacher and oceans raper is a dictatorship that would arrest protesters on any excuse.

  • @PanzerBlitz43 you say "don't try to deflect your guilt" and then only talk about japan and canada?

    .

sorry for killing whales on international waters. i guess bombing and causing chaos and deaths on other countries for your own convenience is less hated. Your people doesn't know about countries that you screwed, they don't teach you that history.

your fake freedom comes from worse things than ours.

you don't have a voice there, america is greater than their people, you will never change

  • BTW She's hot ! (to my perspective;-))

  • " congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the feedom of speech, or the press; (or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and petition the government for a redress of grievances.)

  • On what ground did they arrest her? I don't see her doing anything wrong, along with anyone standing there. This is total INSANITY! where is FREEDOM in this? Where is JUSTICE in this? Where is there DEMOCRACY in this? How much more can we stand by & absorb while the powers that be keep insulting our basic human rights?????

  • it's dangerous to be right, when the government is wrong.

  • How come that the world still believes US is a democracy.

    God blames America

  • I love this peacful protest. Naomi may you be well, happy and peaceful... your are beautiful!

  • how do these people sleep at night?? where is the honour and glory in a job where you persecute people for free speech, peacefull assembly and making your requests for your earth known...

I dont know how they could possibly look in the mirror and smile back at themselves...I think any day now..I am going to wake up and this will all be a bad dream

  • the big powers running the world are scum they do not care about the world, they have total control of every thing including what counts the minds of the masses that can not see past the shit they are being fed every day, ive been in the states the past few weeks and all i see on tv here is lies that the pipe line will create 1 million jobs, ye sure and if it does at what cost and what about the world we live in that is almost ruined because of greed

  • If you ADD all the CANADIAN mining around the world the total increase is closer to the 50% on a per person basis Canada is the number one polluter.

  • SHE KNOWS THAT IS NOT TRUE...SHE WAS SAYING THAT OBAMA WAS BEHOLDEN TO BIG COAL AND BIG OIL DURING 2008 SHE IS PANDERING TO NAIVE OBAMAHEADS.

  • So if I'd be a tourist and went and drank my coffee there and watched these people sit and stand - I'd get arrested too?

  • Look at the dickless worms filming these peaceful protesters..what are you going to do "dissapear " them. You cops or rent a cops do not get it ...you are stupid tools for the corporations. Well your jobs are next on the block.

  • it was extremely unnecessary to put those things in her hands once she was co-oping all the time.

    RIDICULOUS

  • I don't get it, is it illegal to protest in the US?

  • @DeathMach1ne You are free, to do as we tell you.

  • @DeathMach1ne Land of the free no longer exists. America no longer believes in rights.

  • @DeathMach1ne yes.

  • @DeathMach1ne

Yes it is illegal and people justify it by saying "well you should have never protested" and laugh when people get arrested. The people who do that are idiots and can't see their freedoms are being snatched from them.

  • Survivable carbon levels are 350 parts per million (ppm)... At 360 the Coral Reefs die.... We are at 390 ppm..... Wake up people. We are on a dying planet....

  • @paulineprojectlove Went scuba diving this summer. Reef was still there. Any explanation?

  • @blambo35 Your singular and isolated experience does not a scientific analysis make. Duh. Just because you're a moron doesn't mean EVERY human is a moron. Do you understand? Oh, right. Moron.

  • @paulineprojectlove OK well if you could please point mo to a PEER reviewed scientific paper that specifically outlines that coral reefs die at exactly 360 PPM. I would love to be as intellectually enlightened such as yourself but i base my opinions on Fact and science that is peer reviewed. So if you could please refer me to said documents i will read them and you will have my utmost respect and apologise. Or is it a case of you being another Eco nut spewing garbage?

  • Hillary is in bed with the XLPipeline criminals. The corruption runs through this system like a virulent cancer. Time to cut that cancer out.

  • thx. this inspired me!

  • god shes hot ever thought of being a porn star lol

  • The oil corporations have taken control of canadas government and the USA. How are we supposed to fight them when they will do anything to silence us. Bastards. Stupid money hungry bastards.

  • My Grandmother;Marie Tubman hid money there as well....thanks for all you do Naomi.

  • America has a lot of ways of fucking up other countries for personal gain.

Invading is one way. Raping the environment is another.

Nothing will change, not in the near future, because Alberta, where the tar sands are, is the most Conservative province in Canada. And Canada now has the most right-wing govt in history. Also one of our greatest hopes for change died when NDP leader Jack Layton passed away last month.

If vote-heavy Quebec takes a stand we may have a chance.

    Otherwise, we're fucked.

  • @ApocalypsePlough

I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you over us being the richest province in Canada.

(I also vote NDP by the way)

  • @Quionic7 - and that's all that matters, right? is money.

Never-mind digging up of the tar sands fucks up that part of Alberta for generations.

And the pipeline will cause further destruction and devastation.

As long as there's a payoff, who gives a fuck about the environment and future generations?

Typical Albertan money-hungry bastard, you are.

Money is not one of my top priorities. That it is yours is nothing but sad.

Jack Layton would have been ashamed to have you in his party.

    RIP Alberta.

  • @ApocalypsePlough

Yes I love money, I get a lot of it due to the oil. That`s business, if I didn't do it, someone else would.

Better me getting the money than some devil. I may get a lot of money, but I also give a lot away to local charities, recently an apartment burned down causing entire families to lose their homes. I donated to help them. Why? Because I like to help people. Granted, I would rather help people in the present, because they need it more than people in the future.

  • @Quionic7 and you love My Little Pony too apparently.

  • @mbwildlands

Yes I do, it's a fantastic show. Good animations, great character development, etc

  • @Quionic7 such a lousy attitude. My grandchildren will live in a crappy world because of attitudes like yours. Seventh Generation thinking is a much nobler and wiser attitude. Shame to have a legacy as rotten as Hitler's, right?

  • @paulineprojectlove

You know, every time there is some sort of flame war (no matter how small it is). Someone always brings up Hitler (even if the flame war has nothing to do with him), glad to see that you're keeping up the tradition :)

And I'm sorry that I donate my money. I will keep it and spend it on drugs and prostitutes for now on, because it's obvious that's what you want, right?

  • The Keystone XL Pipeline will be a good thing for America!

  • The protesters shouldn't be arrested, the polluters SHOULD.

  • I should send this to abc, cbs and nbc in case they want to know what a journalist looks like.

  • @ion010101

Whenever I see local media, I ask where the real reporters are.

  • i wonder how many of these are Canadians who will in future be turned away at the Border and refused access to the US for being 'agitators' - the Founding Fathers are turning in their graves! "Freedoms"!!!! Don't make me fucking laugh! It's a dirty little police state.

  • Brave, decent, principled woman. Wooden, plodding rather stupid-looking police. If you are out to change minds Tar Sands protesters, you have taken this climate sceptic several steps towards your cause. Bravo, all.

  • For as much as we've seen of the Obama presidency, who is surprised that the the liar bends over backwards to support petroleum and other corporate interests, while ignoring the interests of those to whom he is pledged to serve .... the American people.

  • defend the earth or be her enemy! I wonder if thousands were to get arrested & don't bail then maybe the people that make the money that destroys the earth will stop making money because we would no longer be working ((((((imagine)))))))))) doing anything to save the planet earth our only home to put a home.

  • I love how she hides her money in her bra ;)
