Very good story of Srii Guru Nanak.

It actually sounded like Akbar and Birbal stories. Sri Guru Nanak Devji did what probably wise Bribal would have done.

But still I feel that if Chhath Puja makes people feel happy and contented, no harm in continuing it

At the same time ofcourse they can also take up the social work (as you mentioned) of cleaning these rivers and mountains. No harm in a little extra. After all "cleanliness is next to Godliness."

bahut acchi baat kahi aapne. par aaj guru nanak dev ji ke anuyai hi dharam me andhe ho chuke hain to aur log aapki baat kaise manenge. aapki nadiyon aur parvaton ko saaf karne ki baat bahut acchi lagi. kahir jahan main rehta hoon vahan nadiyan ya parvat to nahi hain par aapne pryavaran ko saaf rakhne ki zaroor koshish karunga.
