Thats exactly what this is, a simulation, a prototype, if they would spend years making a nice graphics engine, there would be no room for innovation. They then sell this technology to game creators or whatever that then implement a great graphics engine. These people are not artists, they are engineers and programmers so to say.

at 3:40 in this airplane history museum in washington i was in that but it was a little different, its a reallly cool experiance. als i had to do was pay 5$ for 5 min. it felt like 30 min.

Just the nature of violent action games will likely breed psychosis aswell. Think of what it would do to your mind playing splinter cell or whatever and sneaking up on someone in realistic VR and snapping their neck or slitting their throat or stabbing someone with a sword.

I'd say the best VR would be hard-light holograms (of course!) but more realistically I'd say a similar method to the one used in a movie I saw, a movement harness coupled with the omni-directional treadmill and goggles covering your view with the game image. I am totally against anything that downloads the information into your brain leaving you in a zombie like sleep state. I'd expect all sorts of pyschosis and problems with that and I find it to be a scarily and dangerously insane idea.

I am totally against downloading the game into your brain where you are in a kind of zombie like sleep state while you play. I'd expect all sorts of psychosis and problems to come about with that. Since we know very little about the brain. Scarily dangerous.

well the whole falling asleep thing would just be incredibly harder probally because the machine wouldnt be just on your head it would have to be inside it too

Well guys i think this...
1) put on a special helmit for this type of thing
2) select settings which game etc
3) make sure u are laying on a bed or somewhere comfy
4) plug in the helmit
5) turn on the switch on the helmit and BOOM u are in a virtual world.
what happens is u fall asleep and as long as u are wearing your helm and it is on u will stay asleep. think about it npc with feeling being able to REALLY hang with your friends? fighting monsters like it was real life maby... great:)

Virtual reality is going to become very famous because there are a lot of Sci Fi movies and stuff.
And when games are made out of those movies, you know what happens.
I mean, who DOESN'T want to use the Force to crush an enemy, or shove up a blade of pure energy in someone's body, or travel at the speed of light to distant worlds, or enter a giant Stargate and go to the Pegasus galaxy? Who DOESN'T want to do all these awesome and epic things? Huh? I'd do them, that's for sure.
