how many baths did you give him with the clay? It takes time for it to pull out all toxins from the body. One bath wont get it all, it should be a nightly thing!
Please check out a great Children's book about Autism, PDD and ADHD called 'Why Is He Different?' (Please spread the word about this unique book, tell your friends and tell me what you think about it. Big thanks!!). You can preview it on youtube profile called Monalisaknew. Just copy and paste the following sentence in youtube search window: 'Why Is He Different? (Autism Book)'
You can also buy this book on AthsePublishing(dot)com. Thank You !!
It worked for my son. However, we buy bentonite clay directly from a local herb store. You can use red clay if you want to, I just didn't like the stain in the tub.
The clay helps to leach out toxins and parasites out the the body. It also provides minerals for damaged or sunburned skin. It doesn't do anything if your skin is alreay healthy, or if you haven't fixed the cause of your symptoms in the first place.
Wow, that ending is kinda...spooky. I mean, having established that he startles easily, you reveal you have made yourself look unfamiliar and announce your intention to get into close proximity to him, and then the clip ends. It's a bit like, "well, I've got the toaster plugged in and heated up, let's see if it warms the bathwater nice and fast. I'll post the results tomorrow!" I take it he didn't freak out?
I agree it's very freaky-looking. My son helped me put the mask on my face. In fact letting him apply it to my face helped him become comfortable with the safety-factor.
Ok - forgive my ignorance - the wife works with autistics children, and I've never heard of this. What's it for? Change the color and texture of the water? Did he have an issue with clear water before trying this?
@sthetx clay pulls toxins out of the body. Some children become autistic from vaccinations and the toxins within. I believe its still being studied to see if it works for children that already are autistic. Doesnt hurt them at all to try, just have to get the right kind of clay.
We loved the clay baths! We never saw "gains" from them but he was pulling higher metal levels when doing them in addition to chelation vs. chelation alone. You should take one, they're wonderful!
Is this the Bentonite kind? LOL :D doing facial to help him feel better. Nice thing is that you are willing to do everything you want him to do/give example. i.e.: like trying out his rice milk recipe etc. (if I recalled that correctly)
Yup I try to make him feel like he isn't being singled out. I like to let him get used to a new texture or color before trying to 'force' him to do something. If he doesn't like it (other than GFCF) he doesn't have to do it. I'll find another way. We took his blood yesterday and I put the numbing cream on my arm an hour before we went to be sure that it worked and it didn't burn or anything. If it's good for him than it better be good for me and everyone else too. =)
i know how he feels with 'colored' bathwater. i freaked out when I had to get in that stuff for chicken pox. i have a lot of 'oddities'... I can't look people in the eye (Mum yells at me about that), I've tried to do it but can't, I don't socialize very well, and am extremely agitated at times by crowded loud places.
He seemed to be fine after i showed him that the water was fun to play in. I also let him put the clay in the water the second time he took the bath. I let him smear it on the walls around the tub and I oput it on my face everytime too. He trusts me and as long as I show him that I will do it too, he is usually game 9Excepting for eating new things) I find it sad that your mom yells at you about not making eye contact, that seems wrong. =/
thanx for replying. it's cool of you to take the time out and respond back. oh, I hope your surgery went well. i was wondering, the clay baths...are they more clay or more watery? Like can you feel the clay?
You mean like the clay that people make pots out of? You mean the clay that I had just recently made a sculpture out of? Interesting- reminds me of a mudbath...
It's bentonite clay. This clay is reputed to have great drawing power when a cup or two is added to bath. You soak in it for 20-30 minutes. It's suppose to be good therapy for those who have high levels of metals in their body instead of chelation. Also, bentonite clay soaks are reputed to improve children with autism.

No, I don't feel that Braden had any detox benefit from this bath. I just wanted to try it and share my results with the world.

No I got this as a detox agent. It makes your skin feel really great, but I wouldn't say it does much more than that...

Does a claybath help an autistic child develop normally or didn't Braden want to be in regular water?

I'm not sure it's the same clay you make pots and sculptures with, but it's similar in texture.
