If you think about it, even though we never saw Bail in A New Hope, he was an integral part of the plot. Additionally, we can deduce several facts about him from what we are presented. Most notably, he must have wanted Obi-wan to train Leia as a Jedi. Why else would he send her to Tatooine? He might've even made a conscious decision to send her in that ship to confirm that she was Anakin's daughter.

well, Organa wasn't actually there. If you read some of the novels or side books it states he was only in hologram when they were on Alderaan. So he must've died another way.

I really like how the color of Luke's lightsaber is fixed at the end of this clip. I sure hope they fix it for the BlueRay release (as well as the color saturation on the sabers in other scenes) - if the person who made this edit can do it, why can't they?

But in Lucasfilm`s bluray all of that cool things, I`m afraid, never be added... Lucas is too proud for this...

Interesting effect with the beam hitting from the ground view....but really as fast as that explosion is moving the people on the ground shouldn't even hear it coming before it hits. For that matter the heat energy released from the beam hitting should fry them where they stand before the shockwave even reaches them.

It was rumored, and who knows, it could still be out there. If anything, Ady showed that Lucasfilm needs to worry about errors more than big changes. I would love to see GL release all deleted or unreleased shot scenes for the OT and let Ady work them in if needed.

This is kinda kool looking but I always thought that the most horrifying part about the Death Star was how quickly it shattered the planet. Only a split-second to scream. I don't think it should be like Titan AE and other planet destruction films. with a crust encapsuling shockwave followed by breaking up. This isn't a super-nuke or asteroid. the whole planet is reduced to rocks. No, if there was to be a scene on the surface it should be of the Death Star in the sky. Good editing though :)

I like the idea of showing Alderann getting nuked from the ground, but putting Jar-Jar in there just make the scene hilarious instead of frightening.

Someone on YouTube made an extended cut of Alderann from the ground with spliced footage from Terminator 2, Superman and Star Trek Generations. It made the destruction much more visceral and terrifying.

I wish Lucas would'a done that for the Special Edition.
