Please answer my question; So that 20 Dollar Hook that is on alot of sites like truswords and other sites is bogus? I just want to know how it is bad before I buy that one you said.
when stepping on your rope wont small dirt particals destroy your rope? idk for sure but i recall hearing that just as a heads up. and whats your position on retractable grappling hooks?
@amirrorsreflection I love the retractable grappling hook, it is my favorite tool. Yes I believe dirt destroys rope, it is just normal wear and tear. I think most of my rope is mold resistant.
@roseofforbidance yeah and I am sorry for misleading people with it. My hook broke in acciedent I did not film. It was not a fun day I had to climb down after falling onto a branch.
I've known a couple of people that have owned, operated and never had an issue with the $20 grappling hooks - used for climbing up to three story buildings [concrete], 40' poles [steel] and grappling up to billboard ladders [high pressure]. Just upgrade the rope - maybe tie a few knots in it for footing - use a stiffer spring and dab some Loctite on the nut. $40 total and never an issue. Just my friends' experiences though.
Ok and i will have to try it sometime and i will make sure it is safe because i could hurt myself really badly or kill my self trying it. and thank you for the great videos
Ok hey me again can you tell me where you got the good grappling hook and how much and tell me what you think of this grappling hook that im thinking about buy
Nice vid, but I got a question. You do say that the ninja grappling hook is dangerous, but I'm going to use it for walls not for trees. Does that change the situation. And some sites say that it can hold up to 800 lbs. You also don't use the nylon rope which most of the internet sites gives it with the hook. And you did use this hook in other vids. I'm just asking these questions because there is a huge difference in prices.
Yes I did use that hook in other video's and I am lucky to be ok. Yes the rope it comes with is atrocious. I would only advise getting a military grade grappling hook that has a weight rating. But not that cheap grappling hook, it bent the first time I used it when I got a new one.

You said that the grappling hook you are using is dangerous but you didn't say why, you said you could kill yourself with one of them but you never said how. what I'm asking is, what's so bad about them as to why i should't get one?
the grappling hook I showed is one of the cheap ones that has no weight rating and it not even really meant to hold more than like 70 pounds. I guess it is used for moving equipment. That is why I got the TGRgrabber instead. The cheap one broke with me, at the bolt at the top.
haha great fall at the end:P how high was it if i may ask?
i once fell down from 12 meter out of a tree:P was climbing it for fun ghehe
landed whit my back on barbed wire my whole back was cut open cuts were 1cm to 2cm deep did kinda hurt and did learn from it:P
i do learn from evry scar i get. ya its probably bether to think before doing somthing than getting hurt and stuf but stil the fall down it self was nice only the landing not:P
lol about half a year ago i bought the same cheap grappling hook xD in the first few weeks of testing it, it started bending and lost the ability to fold. its a really dangerous hook to rely on.
i got the crappy hook but a nice rope on it. i dont use it much to hold all my weight cause i am big and it sucks. but i use it for areas of the forest that are steep steep and hard to get up and hundreds of feet type stuff. but i would only go up a little. but toss it to the base of tree that is skinny higher up and use it to hold onto and kind of walk up and hold it and use it for support. and i use it to pull big dead branches out of trees for firewood. ouch holy cow. great vid 5 stars
Yeah that is a good idea, the crappy cheap one bent the first time I used it. After that I was like no way! Yeah your better off playing it safe bro. Thanks for watching.
im only 70 pounds. will the cheap grappling hook b safe? cuz i unknowlingly bought one yesterday.
