Good for you to try to learn this routine, and to respect Vernon.
I'd make two comments. The first is from, Brian King, who basically said - why would you spend a minute showing the cards were all double backers? If this was real, you could do it in a few seconds. The second thought; this is a trick designed for patter; you can really bump up tthe spectator engagement; eg; where did you get the cards? how did the problem become clear to you? What are your thoughs about what you are going to do?
@ElMysticoTwose Thank you for the info, and tips. The original video did have patter, but I didn't like the way it sounded. I really don't do this routine anymore. I just recorded it for practice reasons. I like what you had to say though. I hope you like my other videos.
I've been working on this routine for about 10 years now, here's a tip that I've learned the hard way. It's in regards to the DL. You'll need something more natural. In this particular routine, the idea of two cards being held as one is far more likely to cross your spectator's mind. It needs to closely mimic how a spec would turn over a single card. Try the strike or knockout double lift. Both can be found on Gregory Wilson's 'Double Take' DVD. Let me know when you're ready for more tips!
@ZacharyHeath Thanks for the tip. I'd love to see you post a video of this routine. I've not seen it performed, and I can't seem to find it on youtube. I learned it from a book. Which is my prefered way to learn magic. Then after I learn the techniques I like to watch it being performed over and over again, by it's creator and any other practitioner. I didn't see any magic videos on your page do you plan on posting any?
Thanks Steve. I think I'm gonna put up a new vid. for this because I added a few things so that there is no percievable set up in front of a live audience. Glad you like it.
