she has an extraordanary gift, so much is clear. But she's not a Mozart. I think Mozart was extremely versatile, could improvise for hours, was brilliant in all the formats of classical music, his genius laid in his adaptability he could write beautiful aria's about any subject, in any key for all kinds of musicians and still make it transendent. He reinvented the pianoconcerto's, was innovative. Talent is hitting a target that nobody can hit, genius is hitting a target that nobody can see.
I am a 16 year old teenage guy who likes pretty much all types of music and her talent amazes me. She is a true virtuoso. I am not gay or anything like that but her videos make me almost cry and they make me feel good. Good luck to this wonderful talent. Truly one of a kind
what's really neat to me is that i've been a musician all my life and am currently a music student and i've had to compose small pieces for class assignments and i have to painstakingly calculate what will sound good, which chords will work, what notes are good for this, etc...but emily seems to just instinctually have it figured out. i have no idea how much theory she knows but i think she seems to just "come out" :)
I'm a 49 yr. old man , and yet I cry when I hear her play. I composed 24 tunes in my life when I had a used piano here and there. Thank goodness I have it on cassette, cuz I can't remember them anymore, Maybe that's why she makes me cry cuz she can still do it.
this gurl can can play my god she is amazing i would buy tickets to see her show any day i cant beleive that she is this good at her age it blows my mind
Keep on saving your kind and lovely heart; you've shown it's even more precious than your magnificent talent!!!! Emily, I wish you have a great life full of many many blessings, I hope to see you performing some day!!! Oh God protect her heart and lead her path... You must have a great family too... congratulations to your mother grandma, brother and sister and anyone else...
She's a great pianist, and she's got some amazing talent, and she's so innocent and all, but this fame and constantly being called 'prodigy, adorable, amazing,' will mess her up in the future. People have to leave her alone.
This world is going crazy with finding new prodigies and 'amazing people' we have to look up to.
@xSunnydeex Its probably best not to compare Emily to Mozart. As he got older and became an adult, Mozart disappeared into musical obscurity, died young and was buried in a paupers grave. God forbid that happen to this little girl.
She is talented however more than talented she is disciplined but she is no Mozart!!! People who are not accomplished musicians shouldn't make comments or comparisons to the only truly naturally talented musician ever which was Mozart! I would like to hear her symphonic compositions if any but even if I did I doubt very seriously that they would compare to Mozart. You don't have to compare her to Mozart to acknowledge that she is adorable and talented which I agree she is indeed very special.
@xSunnydeex no... shes not haha maybe the next chopin. but still doubtful, give mozart the musical knowledge and technology we have today... that would be scary...
the funny part is...is that shes getting press because of her...if she doesnt write anything significant by say...her teens...she will be considered a nobody...
and from listening to her style, im pretty sure she wont write anything great because her compositions are a snooze fest.
he wrote his first symphony at age 7. 1 year isn't a lot of difference. and realliy, if he wrote a symphony at age 7, he must have been doing great things by age 6. it's called logic.
Wow...I'm a young composer too, I'm 13, but I didn't start writing music until I was almost seven. Emily's been doing this since she was 3...I wish her luck in the world of music.
i swear this angel never fails to make me cry everytime she touches the piano..she is really the chosen one..ive been playing n sacrificing for music all my life n i can never even get close to what she is doin at that age..its a prodigy.her music has changed my life.hugs to emily.ellen is right.ur very special! u will definitely be someone very important n respected in the music world one day.
i think minimum,u need 1year in each grade,but she's only 6,so it doesn't go...i think she's just that talented,she is just born with already a grade8 cert in her head..she's simply brilliant!!!
INCREIBLE... simplemente hermoso, ojala que este mundo no la contamine y que pueda crecer con esa pureza que la necesitamos, necesitamos ese alimento para el espiritu que es la musica.
hahahahaha LMAO, i can't believe it. is this a 6 year old girl? i play piano since i was 4, meanwhile i'm 17, and still i don't play like that, even though her hands are way smaller than mine!!
She's terribly rich, she's born in an environment where her grandmother is a CONCERTO pianist...and she had 2 pianos in her house. Some people aren't that privileged. Some people aren't born where there's a piano waiting...I'm sure everybody else would be a prodigy too if they had the chance that Emily had. Desho?
People have different talents, luckily she found hers because it was programmed in her genes and her environment stimulated it. And if the government and education board realized this, we would not be resistant to changing the education system. If you want equal rights you have to fight for them, not just complain. More instruments in schools? Maybe.
Even if that C scale was just pure coincidence, just look at her now. She could write her own song, and they are all really beautiful. Can you write your own too? No, i don't think so. She's just seven. Get of her back.
Her musical concept is timeless, beyond age and experience. I believe that when the momentum of practice has been exhausted then some unseen cupid lends the hand of genius, in an aura of love. Best wishes, Emily.

She is not special. Anyone can do this without a mind set on bad selfesteem. Think that you can do it and you will do it. Young people have it easier as they havent had time to be badly influenced by others but anyone can do it. Realize that and anything you wish is possible!
do you relieze that this kid is very young. she has not had enough lessons to be "normal" and be that good. please reliesze that this kid is VERY special and amazing
That is exactly my point. Because she is young she hasnt learned that she "isnt supposed" to be that good at that young age. Realize that if anyone free their mind of what they think they cant do, then you can do anything. Emily hasnt been told that she cant play this good piano at this young age, thus she can do it!
Looks like you are squarely blaming all the parents around the world for not letting their kids be like this little girl. What an idea. Are you one of those analysts working in the Wall Street or something?
how is she not special? you're a joke. she played the C major scale with 3 fingers when she was 2 having no experience with the piano before. so how is she not special again?
Short story, she is not special. Humans are special. Any human can do anything if they set their mind to it. Instead we are told as kids we CANT do or be anything because it is just too hard. NOT true.
wow man get out of your fairytale land. if you ever have a kid. film them when they're 2 years old. they won't be able to play the C scale. gaurenteed
with the attitude you have, your kids dreams are gunna be crushed. this is reality. you've been reading to many books and inspirational speeches/poems
well... I'm such a fan of Emily... but a C major scale consists of only white notes. it was probably just coincidence she happened to start on that note... then she just went up and down the piano.
no i think silvr94 was talking about how emily's grandmother said she heard someone playing a C scale on the piano and it was emily aged 2. it's true it's probably the first thing she played because it's straight up and down the white notes
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
well i'm not denying the fact that she can play piano extraordinarily well... but a two year old does not know how to play a c-major scale... i still believe it was pure coincidence.
Who is to judge what finger and what not. It's all determined by previous greats for Lesser player like YOU to try to master a skill in a Life time easier! But for this truely gifted young child, she is no doubt THE BEST in this century. Go and follow your correct finger and stay nobody.
well when she was 2 years old she played a c-major scale on the piano. her grandmother thought she was a prodigy child straight away. i think that was pure coincidence. nut of course now she plays the piano wonderfully!
some of her songs are piano in the sky, journey to my heart, waterlight, sunday morning, rosario sings, northern lights, boogie woogie, silent option, and ellen's song.
Amazing how she composes. I can hear influences from the Charlie Brown specials, and Hallmark specials, amongst other things. Does she listen to anything written by David Foster? She has just soaked up the popular culture and created something uniquely her own.
While her playing has a lovely touch and expressiveness what amazes me is that the piece itself has melodic and harmonic developments that are way beyond what a six year old should be able to imagine.
emily is so awesome. i quit piano like for a year or 2 and now i play piano again because of her. and the jonas brothers but that is a different story
im soooo jealous. i wish i started playing piano at 6. I started at 10, im jealous of adorable lil girls that can play piano better than me. dumb prodigy. she is sooo good i am so mad.
Love that Don it was beautiful. That is something how talented beautiful child she is. Ellen does a great job with children. Thanks for putting it up.

well... I'm such a fan of Emily... but a C major scale consists of only white notes. it was probably just coincidence she happened to start on that note... then she just went up and down the piano.
silvr94 2 years ago
the song isn't even written in the key of C - not sure what you are referring to...
belaem 2 years ago
no i think silvr94 was talking about how emily's grandmother said she heard someone playing a C scale on the piano and it was emily aged 2. it's true it's probably the first thing she played because it's straight up and down the white notes

This comment has received too many negative votes show
well i'm not denying the fact that she can play piano extraordinarily well... but a two year old does not know how to play a c-major scale... i still believe it was pure coincidence.

Who is to judge what finger and what not. It's all determined by previous greats for Lesser player like YOU to try to master a skill in a Life time easier! But for this truely gifted young child, she is no doubt THE BEST in this century. Go and follow your correct finger and stay nobody.

Actually that's not correct. Some of her songs are not C major scale

well when she was 2 years old she played a c-major scale on the piano. her grandmother thought she was a prodigy child straight away. i think that was pure coincidence. nut of course now she plays the piano wonderfully!

I've been wanting to play piano for a while but after seeing her it makes me want too even more!

Amazing how she composes. I can hear influences from the Charlie Brown specials, and Hallmark specials, amongst other things. Does she listen to anything written by David Foster? She has just soaked up the popular culture and created something uniquely her own.

I rather listen to her own creations.

I agree with erik. Bellas Lullaby is a good song but its even more amazing to watch her do some songs that she has written herself

you know even a great pianist still have to sit, write and practice for weeks to come up with one song, and this little girl can do it in minutes.
I think she has the best preminition in music.she can hear music in her head before she plays it.
she is what I call god of music (piano).
