Those - ISRAELIS/RUSSIANS/CHABADNICS - Pushers / Choutspanimm/ "MANIPULATING" - Make me sick to my stomach!

  • lavendula6654 is a prick

  • Lots of good information. I will send some of my friends and associates here. Thanks for having a great heart and sharing. I just wrote a book myself with strategies to get a job quickly. Titled, coincidentally, "Get A Great Job Fast." It's free on my website. Tough times. We need to help each other.

  • What does this mean to the average Joe on the street? Take advantage of every opportunity to practice writing and speaking, and craft your communications to make them as easy to understand as possible. Tutor a friend, post to public discussion boards, join the Toastmasters, or take a course on technical writing.

  • It is true that it is hard to get a job at Google, but they do not hire pompous asses. They hire people from top-tier schools who are easy and fun to work with. They can choose whoever they want, so they only hire the mest. I don't work there, in case you were wondering.

  • Many technical people believe that if they can just code up a program, they should get hired. What these employers are saying is that technical skills are not enough, one needs to be able to talk to other people about their work.

  • How does all of this work for the average Joe on the street? Most people don't think and talk like these people do. I think you have to be a pompous ass to get a job at Google.

  • These people are so abstract that i don't think they even know how to communicate. Communications is transmitting and idea or ideas to another person. These people want you to be able to think abstractly which is not communicating. Communicating is telling someone what your ideas are, and these may be those abstract or practical ideas.

  • I see some Indian guy in between where he tries to concentrate more on how he put his accent as close to the others..so funny

  • if everyone listens to your wisdom (the employers), it does not mean that we will all get a job for the company we are seeking to be employed, simply because there are NOT enough jobs! by chance (or luck) is how we get our jobs. even better, if you know someone who is on the inside, this greatly increases the chance of getting the job, waiving the "people skills" role.

this video is helpful, but is not suited for these tough times, its outdated.

  • oh please, this video is nonsense.

FACT: 2-5% of the people working at any company carry the rest of the 95-98%.

I've worked on small projects (30-40 people) where boatloads of work gets done, only to have the bureaucrats take over and bloat the workforce.. (IBM & AT&T) Try this approach. Hire only the best, and pay them outlandish salaries. In the long run, you'll save a bundle...

  • Good job with this video. It puts a big smile on my face.

Sadly to say, my engineering school does not stress the importance of communication but so much on theory.

I wonder sometimes why some of the engineering professors I have suck at explaining things but give hard exams.

Then again, Its college. Professors aren't paid to teach but to lecture. So I see it as a challenge.

If anyone is pursing a degree in Engineering, Does your Engineering program stress communication skills?Let me know

  • Well the industry ive been in for 30 years(born into it & good at it) you now need to know how to speak spanish.

So now I cant get hired because of it. That's no lie. The first thing im asked is can you speak spanish? No. And that's the end of it. They care not of your years of experience, knowledge, education, skills, etc.

I cant even land a management position because they want somebody who can speak both english & spanish as a tool to communicate between all the mexicans and the boss.

  • In this job market, the question you need to ask is:

    "Whose butt can I kiss?"

Most people are hired through personal referrals. Unless you know someone personally at the company, your chances of getting an interview are slim.

  • This a great resources. I am going to share it with my fans on Facebook. Thanks!

  • So am I wrong on the points that I made? Corporate world is crazy out there.I'm sorry . I have nobody that works for me editing my statements. I noticed that you had over 4400 views but nobody made statements like me. I guess I'm the only one who has experienced that. Awesome 8 comments total now. Have a good day. is that a complete sentece. Capiche?

  • I cannot say if you are wrong if I cannot understand what you are saying. Technical workers never have people editing their statements, and that is why they have to be able to write clearly and correctly.

Community colleges have great English programs for very little cost.

  • @lavendula6654

"so they only hire the mest." I think you need to write a correct English sentence. LOL !!! :) :) :)

  • Nobody mention to get promoted you need to be a back stabbers. Or to get hire you need to be someones brother or son. Lots of companies want only family members or friends in the best positions. Is not what you know is who you know. You can be brilliant and get bypass. Not all companies are like google or hightech that they need to bring people from overseas. Some companies don't even want people from different background.

I wonder how many people will agree with me.

  • You need to learn how to write a correct English sentence.

  • and too well, god no wonder they want to sack me.

  • communicated sorry.

  • I think I comunicated to well today and said that the managers were not performing, guess that means im sacked.:(

  • What a great resource! Thanks

  • Very good to know, thanks!
