@Avizura It will work. Go to the unity website. look for the FAQ page and go through the questions, there will be one answer that will make it run on your PC. You have enable DEP for unity..go to it, it will show you :-)

@ForNoReason1000 Not necessarily, you can do level design or environment art or character animation. Basically anything art based that does not need programming.

@RedofYellow yes that may be true, but look at your character animations, there obviously going to be more than one, to make that character change animation when he walks, jumps, or attacks requires a control script, the only way you gonna get that legally is using C# knowledge, it really depends on what role you take towards your project, you obviously cant do it alone(same games take a team of 1000+ over a year) im personally a modeler with code on the side ,besides C# is quite easy to learn

@ForNoReason1000 True, most people use UDK though I am used to people going along with the visual scripting of unreal. But Unity3D has 2 viable visual scripting tool available on the asset store. But still, you can make environments without coding knowledge. But animation will have to be basic like mechanical animation using unity's animation window.

@RedofYellow the only reason i use Unity becuase they don't levy you of your profits, i think UDK charges 10 to 20% and if you go with Steam(not a good choice, many players dislike steam, effectively hurting your sales) which will take another another 30% so out of say 200k a year you earn you only have 120 -100k left for a whole team that's not even including the tax part of it. yes its very easy to make entire scenes and with out a scrap of code, even some water shaders wont need any code.

@ForNoReason1000 Tushay, I think UDK is best for just people with a hobby which is why I want to use it to make environments and put together a portfolio. But I do agree with you. Its bad, very bad for indie/ smaller studios.

@slayere23 Free does not mean you don't register. You shouldn't have to pay for it IF YOU SELECTED the free version. My company is my school for example. You need to put that sort of stuff in. Go to the site and click on Download Now. Then make sure you picked the free version when it asks you questions. If you want to be extra sure go to the store. Select Unity as your base product. To the right it says it is free.
