I remember back in the day. If you were cool you listened to Foghat, if you weren't you listened to Donna Summer. Foghat sure brings back memories. I will always be thankful for the kind of music you couldn't dance to. That was our excuse so we didn't have to dance. I didn't understand how chicks could dance to anything. I remember getting pulled out on the dance floor to Carry on Wayward Son, how embarrassing!
...we were there...but so wound-up, that we're not sure, but I sure miss Lonesome Dave..he was THE SHIT!!! Ya, we'll party again someday, R.I.P., my friend, cuz we'll be goin' to the city -
Agreement with Rory, the were not 'fired' from Savoy Brown. Along with Kim they MADE that band too....The had some EXCELLENT tunes with Savoy, they brought that spirit to Foghat with a tad less blues and a little more rock! Great Stuff!
lonesome dave told me they quit kim, because of money. kim got about 70% of the money and they divided the other 30% 3 ways. he was always friends with kim. he said it was business differences, not musical ones
2. I believe the boys quit on him rather than the story you tell. Let's face it, they were a ready made band with killer vocals and strong tunes. I love their debut album best. Thanks for the great video.
I did not know that...This is my favorite Foghat tune. I met and partied w/Savoy Brown/Kim Simmons at the Blue Note outside of Chicago about 20 some years ago.
I saw the current edition of Foghat last night at the Alameda County Fair in
Pleasanton,CA.(6/24/11).They were sensational!!! Charlie Huhn(lead vocals
and guitar),and slide player Bryan Bassett(formerly of Wild Cherry,"Play That
Funky Music White Boy") have replaced the late Dave Peverett and Rod Price.
Roger Earl(drums) and Craig MacGregor(bass) are the two surviving members.
What a show!!! For boogie blues-rock it doesn't get any better than this!!! What
a show!!!

Dave,Tony & Roger were all in Savoy Brown together with leader Kim Simmons who fired the
three of them. They formed "Foghat" recruiting Rod Price on lead guitar and never looked back.
