Hardest part of the song if you're bass. That "but after her lover" segment is a bitch to time.

  • @StupidJellyfish - been working on this at the weekend, you're so right, but what a great sound in the end.

  • This makes me want to throw up a rainbow

  • @Mrmagictrack

This song is actually a popadom for just that.. Back then when this song was made, they couldn't put any explicit material in their songs, so they had to make it somewhat tongue in cheek. It is about two lovers and what they do when they are alone. :)

  • I kind of actually want to hear this faster...

  • Och this is heaven. Where's the picture from btw? it's really sweet :3

  • does anybody else think that "up and down" sounds a bit like popadom

  • our chorale group sang this and it's HARD! I respect the King's Singers now! :D

  • How is this shit?

  • The weird thing is that this smog is all guys....the reason some r high pitched is bc...fellas hold ur self...boys were castrated before puberty hit o theird hormones didn't have a chnc to develop...sorry

  • @kekew1989 I think there are countertenors here though; a highly supported and vocalized falsetto.

  • This somg is so awesome

  • woah, that was awesome.

  • Oh, then they fell kissing!!

  • fap music.

  • @youngcaesar24 You're trolling, right?

  • @PakezSystematicWrath You're trolling, right?

  • @youngcaesar24 How is this shit?

  • @youngcaesar24 quite insightful comment you got there, so proud of you! (this was sarcastic in case you rap-muddled brain couldn't figure that out).

  • @95n96girl ha i didn't know that girl thanks

  • This song is so light and beautiful. I am very excited to sing this in my highschools' chorale!

  • this song makes me smile every time i listen to it. We're singing it in madrigal choir now. :)

  • that up and down part is so fun!!!

  • is that soprano....a man?

  • @jzrnsk Yes, a man, but he'd be classed as a countertenor- a male alto who uses his falsetto range for the high notes. That may be the reason why the King's Singers don't feature an alto.

  • judging by the up and downs, i think they did more then kissing

  • @CptSpiffyPanda lol i thought this piece is called Fair phyllis i saw sitting ALONE...... wtf....

  • man fair phyllis is a sexual panther

  • @JeffOpon Some 16th century pornography right here!

  • I LOVE this piece!

  • omg i am doing this for solo ensemble with the chorale group in my high school

  • Haha we listened to this in music xD

  • @HawkFire124 we did too :D

  • kissing up and down... mmmm.

  • We're singing this is one of my chorus classes-- (Madrigals, surprise, surprise!) and I love it! No one else seems to, 'cause it really is kinda difficult to learn, but I'm ok with that...it's just so much fun to sing!!

  • @shoptilidrop1994 haha same here we just started learning it in madrigals today!

  • It's my first year in an advanced choir, and we're singing this...I'm really looking forward to it!!

  • More than the video I love this song; I sang it in a women's choir many years ago.

It's wonderful to hear a different rendition of it.

  • I have to memorize everything about this and much more for music lit. This one is one of the better for sure.

  • for god's sake - how can people "dislike" this? IDIOTS!! Truly.

  • really enjoying the triplets starting at about 1:00!!

  • i had to sing this in chorus and by the end of the song i couldnt breathe..... XD

  • @snoPuppy250, but that is the point for this song. you are not suppose to breath a lot on this song..

  • this is the shit.

  • this is such a wonderful song.... and I wrote a classtest in music about it, but that was just great, an A- ...

  • This i sone of my ultimate FAVORITE songs! I love it!

  • This performance by the kings singers is INCREDIBLE. The ensemble singing is excellent - every aspect - from diction to dynamics, rhythm, pitch, text emphasis, WOW. Wonderful.

  • I love this song. Haha. So much fun, especially to sing.

  • Gotta love fair Phyliss. Much more barbershop quartet than I once though Renaissance music was.

  • I love the word painting in this madrigal! Up and down, up and down...O then they fell a-kissing O then they fell a-kissing...so cute! lol

  • hehe up and down, up and down..... I love this Ambiguities..... :-)

  • My A Capella Choir is singing this song. Way awesome song.

  • this year the accapella group im in at school is singing this song...we all LOVEE IT

  • I'd comment on how everyone's right, it's meant to be this fast - but a bunch of people have beat me to it. ;D

Anyway, this is incredible I worship the King's Singers. Their tenor is FLAWLESS.

  • WOW! I've never heard this song before. This is Fantastic!

  • I agree with those who state that this tempo is perfect. The song is supposed to be quite humorous, not another dreary madrigal.

  • Good Lord no, its not too fast at all. Kings Singers are the masters of this. I think that the contrast between the 2/2 and the 3/4 would be less effective if it was taken slower. This is a madrigal - not a Bach chorale..!

  • GREAT!

  • this isn't too fast at all, its the right tempo, it alternates between duplo and triple meter

  • there is feeling..it takes mad skill to sing this song so fast and precise as they do..its a fun song to sing

  • yeah i had this played to us in music lesson at school

    I LOVE IT

  • this is bloody fast.

the choir I blelong to sing this about 1/2 -3/4 of the speed here, as a guy posted earlier, it means we can get more feeling in the piece.

  • You've answered your own point - this is a madrigal, not a piece of choral music.

  • Sang this when I was in my school chior, loved it, short sharp and great fun (couble entendre not being lost on teenage schoolboys) To sing it slower would be a waste of such a delightfull, cheeky song.

  • I sang this with my school choir too! You didn't happen to go the HBHS in CA with Mr Bales for a choir director, did you? :-)

  • lol we had this played to us in music XD i love it :L

  • oh my god this is sooooo good

  • there's no feeling in the way their singing it and it's way too fast

  • i couldnt be more perfect. the tempo, the tone purity, the vocal mastery and blend, the AMAZING tenors! I won't be able to accept a lesser performance of this song ever again.

    Thanks for posting

  • Hahaha this is great! Very talented as well as properly fast :)

  • i love you catherine

  • Love this. The faster the better, IMHO

  • I also sang this in St Albans and District Youth Choir in Hertfordshire, England in 1967...not so fast as this, as I remember

  • Love it! Sang this for the state solo & ensemble competition back in my high school days. Brings back so many memories. :D
