actually.. if you pause it there is apparently a spike hidden under the candle. Maybe candle holder have them to keep the candle in place but this one looks unusually dagger-like :)

Candle-sticks usually have spike on them to keep the candle upright. :-) You're right! And the spike has to be unusually long and sharp to keep the really tall ones standing upright.
