Other than the fact that they addressed him out-of-the-blue, the students were very civil and gave him no reason to restrain that one like he did. Reality check: Some kid comes up to you as you walk down the street. You've no idea who they are but they're rolling video on you and asking stupid questions. They refuse to identify themselves. Do you: A, smile and say 'no comment'. B, call the police. C, confiscate their media in self defense. D, kick them square in the nuts and then confiscate their media. ? I chose D. I have no sympathy for these passive-aggressive brats.

Democrat voters are uninformed?? I am a registered republican but I have been voting democrat since 2001. To say that Dems are less informed than GOP voters is really a clue to how much damage has been done by Fox news and conservative talk radio. Nearly everyone I know family and friends get their "news" from Fox. They spout GOP talking points just like the mindless babes Fox puts on to keep their attention.

I have the same kind of rep in my city of Lexington, Kentucky. He refuses to see me, and will not allow appointments to talk with him. I'm a 23 year retired veteran. This country has gone to SHiT.

When a US congressman is approached in this way, as I would be, he has the right to know who is in his face. I would have grabbed the phone also. too many high tech devices avail. (tear gas, gun, taser) for someone wanting to harm a public figure. Any citizen has the right to defend himself. All the congressman asked was for ID, which wasnt supplied. Its time to add secret service or protection full time. I would have decked someone shoving that in my face. Etherdge was right!
