Sales tax, or any tax, reduces wealth. Anything that limits consumption limits wealth. If I can afford 2 apples without sales tax or 1 apple with sales tax, I would be wealthier with 2 apples, but yes I agree it would force consumers to make better decisions. ALL tax reduces wealth

No great nation that got rid of the Gold Standard was able to stay great. They spend and spend just so they can go bankrupt and taxes rise. That's why the gold standard needs to be brought back,spending needs to be cut, and the income tax has to be abolished. Get rid of the Department of Education,Commerce,Energy, Transportation,Agriculture,med­icare,medicaid,welfare, social security, and cut military spending by the some of the 700 bases. And replace the entire tax code with a 18% sales tax.

The only reasonable course of action is to continue what we're doing. To go to "honest" money now would make a collapse certain AND we would lose all our gold to the old paper debt. Better to pay off the dishonest debt with dishonest money than with gold.
