he probably fired his camp because they gave him bad advice to stand and strike with a known striker. if i was brock i would fire them to. They're suppose to help him with a decent gameplan to overcome overeems strengths and to find weaknesses that brock can exploit.

i don't believe for a second that brocks camp went in there and told him to stand toe to toe with overeem. that would the stupidest thing to do if your not confident in your striking ability.

I think he did make considerable improvements on his standup game and was banking on using that but, on fight night, he just froze. There's plenty of cases of guys who do great at the gym but can perform to their level during a live fight.

Either way, I think he knew that even on his best night, he just wasn't going to get far in a striking match with Ubereem and his mind went blank given how he had already failed a takedown.

Poor Brock, but so it goes.

Henry Cooper 1 fight before he beat Liston for the title, Ali was almost knocked into the 3rd row! Then add Frazier who only does 1 thing, throw left hooks and in 3 fights, Ali got hit with the same punch! Yes Ali was fast and his handspeed was amazing, one the best! Probably the best! But his defense wasnt great!
