A classic ad i think it was the kingston flyer awesome ad brings back memories hahaha the granny at the end my favourite was the indian and preist !!!
i loved watching the full version when i was younger. how time flys =( soo much good memories bk in the days! crunchie WAS a favourite, just not the same anymore
The woman that played the 'granny' was my mother's primary school teacher in the 50's. Apparently she would lock kids in the broom closet if they misbehaved in class!! Can't get away with that now!!
There are a lot of superlative comments on Youtube, but that has to be the greatest commercial ever made. I remember it from living in NZ between 1975 and 1979, and I think it was towards the end of that time - 78 or 79 maybe. Absolute classic, well done to the creators.
lifes a whole long journey bar and before you grow too old ,dont miss the oppurtunity to strick a little gold , out west the folks are pushin you the way to make it stop is quick to draw your crunchie bar and fill em full of choc , have a crunchie , hocky pocky bar golden crunchie your hockey pockey bar ..............What lyrics for a classic New Zealand ad we are just sooo bloody creatively great ...they dont make ads like this any more ,come on NZ bring them back !
The ad won't play again on TV due to the fact that they stole/copied/ripped off a whole lot of movie material to complete the ad (one of the movies was Von Ryans Express).
Playing this again on TV would result in Cadbury being sent letters by the sort of lawyers whom own medium sized islands.
Rubbish! This ad played on NZ TV & in movie theaters for over 4 years. Scenes from "Von Ryan's Express" were used by permission of Mark Robson Productions and 20thC Fox. Scenes from Cheyenne (WB) and Geronimo (MGM) was also by permission. The only footage with no consent was two short sepia toned B&W clips at 1:01 from a 1914 silent movie "Sitting Bull the Hostile Indian Chief". The production company (American Rotograph) has not existed since 1915. The Company Principals were unknown.

I guess the one dislike is from Nestle's Milky Bar Kid - missed out on all the action.

I think we blew NZ's budget for 50 years making this but it was sure worth it. Let the next generation make a better one.
