I was point fighting with my sensei (Goju Ryu Karate, and Kickboxing), and I wasn't able to land a hit (XD obviously lol, white belt with black stripe, he's 3rd degree I think, he teaches with his girlfriend Robyn, who's the instructor of the school). Anyways I was getting super tired from all the jumping, right? eventually I got dizzy and stuff (from moving around dodging stuff in circles), so I though. hmm.. drunken.. I mixed with drunken, (from TV), moved more, and didn't get tired :3
@Acification95 Gong fu training is the methgods of creating power, speed and timing by using the body in its most efficient way
You use the skills when fighting, of course, sparring or any other form of combat. Through training the understanding of how the forms work comes out. Train with a partner and try the movements. It is much easier with an instructor to help..
Before I become a jerk and start stating things like, "this is an art but it is by no means martial," or to quote Bruce Lee, "Classical Mess," can you direct me to an MMA type event where this style is used? So far I have a few arts up for grabs that do not seem combat effective, i.e., Aikido, Tai Chi Chaun, Drunken Fist, et al.,. I do not want to discount this immediately but you must admit that these techniques look God awful to the general martial arts public. So, any combat videos? ty
@Chad01234 A lot of movies show martial arts...karate,kung fu,drunken fist, wushu, wing chun, aikido and etc...they just show moves to attract more people...martial arts are realy great....
i've been doing for one year and half hung gar kung fu ...a few moves looks fascinating but there is 1/1000000 changes to use something like that....but a looooot of movies looks boring and not great....but they can tear body members apart....
Ive been trying to learn drunken boxing for a while now. If i were to upload a video of me sparring using drunken boxing would yal give me tips on how to better my technique?
Tbh i never properly learned ive just been watching videos and practicing the things i see on my own. so im wondering if my form is really drunken boxing or just some random stuff ive pulled together over the last few months.
Traditional drunken styles like this one are combat systems, our drunken is not as pretty as wushu style drunken boxing but it does work for fighting. Applications are coming to youtube soon from us, then you can see more of how we use it in combat. My lessons n the stepping form includes some applications as well to help understand better some of the foundational methods for combat
This was great, thanks for uploading. I wish I could find a place to teach this style in Kentucky, but no! No one but me seems to even know what it is!
