When this happens in my outboard we just tip the engine up with the intake barely in the water, step off the side and give it some throttle to push us off....obviously you still need a couple of water to do this.
Oh...and that is the only time I make sure and use the Lanyard LOL>
@flanksteak2 LOL, That's one of the reasons I wish I had never sold my OB. Soooo easy to get it off a gravel bar. The problem I had with it was that there are places around here where the water is moving faster than the OB would push the boat, so I could not get up through some sections of the rivers very easily.
@RockDoctor07 Yep, had a few boats. I had a 16 ft nahanni with an ob jet, was an awesome exploring boat cause it was pretty light.... still it was limited to depth. The pickup hangs slightly below the boat and can get you in trouble. Inboard.... pick up is above the bottom level.... 3 inches.... lots of water, just don't stop!!! :)
@smwizzz Nahanni's are nice boats, my last OB was a little like a Muskrat. 16ft long and 7'4" wide, 115 Yamaha OB Jet, also a very light boat. I had the jet mounted up in a tunnel though so the jet never hung down at the back at all. I could push about a tonne up on step and run through a couple inches of water. Very flat bottom though, so it was easy to powerslide in corners.
@RockDoctor07 Yeah, tunnel hulls work better with the ob jet for draw, same with the flat bottom. I think my nahanni was 12 degrees but can't remember for sure. It worked good anyhow. The flatter the bottom the better for shallow stuff. Take care bud....
Brad actually does not forgive you, he called me up and said he was not happy. Neil is drunkl and refuses to let use the word `gay`anylonger...........

Not a good feeling, but it's happened me too. Jet boats are fun, everything usually works out OK, looks like they had fun!!!
