If the hamster moves full forward, he will move both legs at the same time, however, if he moves sideways (I mean, points in other direction) the legs would move in opposite directions...

It looks very cute, but it's basically a hamster-hobbling machine. It saddles the hamster with lots of extra weight, which can be made to move a little bit, but nowhere near as fast as the hamster can get around on its own. I suppose if the contraption works as armor to protect it from predators, it would serve that purpose well. Except a cat would tip it on its side and the hamster would be immobilized. Sorry to be a killjoy about it. If I send this link to my wife, she's going to want one.
