If youre using the Laser off of a computer scannerm you should be able to use the motor from that as well, You'd just need to increase the framerate capture of your webcam, around 40-45 fps should help capture the image more precisely. Also I would suggest using maybe one or two more scanner lasers. One from the opposite direction at a 90* angle to the first, and the other being horizontal, moving up and down. This should help clarify the 3d image.
