i love how you totally pwned that Death Mage. Didn't think that anything short of a /Energy Tanker could deal that much damage to a single target so quickly
and yes, FounderUtopia, i AM provoking you, and i pray it works, cuz i'd love to tell you how, by the very definitio of Veteran Rewards, your arguement is a total, absolute lump of crap
i don't understand what that comment was directed at. when you say "that", which part are you talking about? i read the discussion, and i'm saying that ur full of shit. The game has many many reward systems. the veteran rewards are only one TYPE of such a system. go do a task force, any task force. oh, what's that you get when you finish it? it's a REWARDS TABLE?? wow, look at that... there u have it, u want rewards you can work for, there they are. go get 'em.rewards.
i've just tried to reword my comments 3 times and every time, it's been over the 500 character limit, and now i have to wake up in 5 hours for school, so i give up on this crap, cuz the fact of the matter is, you can bitch all you want over this and the Veteran Rewards will NEVER die anyway, so, good luck to you, FU... lol ur initials actually fit this situation quite well. buh-bye, silly rabbit. go stew in your bitchiness for a while
Oh shush. If you can't follow a conversation then don't intercede. You don't seem to realize that you're the only one actually bitching here, I haven't got the time for heated little children who talk too muc but say so little. I can't even answer your melodramatic rambling without repeating what's already been said anyway.
"bitching" is voicing an opinion in a complaint, as in every one of your posts talking about how "ridiculous" the veterans system is. and you say "constructive"... what's ONE constructive thing you've posted? you have elegant speech, but behind that your argument is simply hypocritical and unfounded.
No, bitching is where you complain in an irritated and incessent/unwarranted fashion. I was neither irritated not speaking out of terms, it was a discussion ABOUT the vet rewards and I merely voiced my own opinion.
Uncidentally, "hypocritical" is where you say one thing and do another, there is no example of me doing that either. I have been consistent.
Haha, you know what, why don't you run along and go try to flame someone else, ok kid? I won't waste much more time catering to the whims of someone who is more concerned with splitting hairs than engaging in an adult discussion.
Maybe you can find someone who is so retarded they can't actually make you look like an idiot.
unfortunately, i seem to have found someone (AKA you) so retarded that they don't remember their own quotes. so here's one of you causing this whole discussion by bitching about the veteran rewards: "Yeah, after FIFTEEN MONTHS. Frankly, I think that's ridiculous." Don't try to say that's not bitching, because then that just would suggest that you don't understand the meaning of the term.
and speaking of attacking your syntax, in what way are any of your comments constructive? all you've been doing has been complaining about what you think is wrong. how is that constructive?
"You pay money every month to get access to this game, why are you not entitled to certain parts and elements of it? You PAY for that privelege." But you ARE entitled to all parts and elements of the game, given that you fulfill the requirements to earn that content. the PRIVELEGE is something extra of the game itself. the devs could have just left all the vet stuff out of the game entirely. just be lucky they give the chance to get the extra content at all.
One example does not constitute a plural. I complained only once, and there *was* no discussion underway at the time so it did no harm.
I bitched, someone disagreed, it lead to an intellgent exchange. The point in which you accused me of "bitching" was well into that exchange, by which time the opening comment was completely irrelevant. You were just trying to stir trouble.
You see? All you can do is split hairs and nitpick, you lack the confidence to admit when you are wrong
the veteran rewards simply come to you as you play the game itself. it's not like any of them are vital to gameplay, or the devs wouldn't "force you to wait" a few months. you're talking about the veteran system like it's a main focus of the game, when it's just an EXTRA. the wings are an EXTRA. the bonus powers are an EXTRA. the trench coats, non-combat pets, and base items are all EXTRA. quit talking about them like they're normal game content
My argument was constructive because it made intelligent, true points which were perfectly acceptable. Just because none of us could change the situation doesn't mean it's pointless to exchange opinions on it.
By that logic, discussing anything outside of our own control would never happen, and I think that is silly.
Your remaining two posts are simply repeating points which I have already countered. Still you focus more attention on snipes than following the conversation.
ok, even IF your argument was intelligent, that doesn't make it constructive. it's DESTRUCTIVE because all it is is a pitiful attempt to put down a generous system that makes players happy and give devs longer-lasting clients. everyone wins with the veteran system. all you do is sit there and cry for more and more, selfish.
there, both a "snipe" and "following the conversation." i can focus on both.
As I have already explained, we already deserve every upgrade made to this game simply for the fact that we pay for it every month. There is no genererosity in holding these upgrades back until we have paid even more.
The concept of vet rewards is, in my opinion, pointless in the context of a game. In reality it works, but in game-time it is unrealistic to expect people to just wait for improvements that already exist to come to them.
Did you even read my "you don't get a car till you're at least 16" analogy? Or any other of my posts, for that matter? because you keep saying that i'm not contributing to the discussion, or that i'm not countering your points, but i've provided several undeniable rebuttals which YOU don't seem to acknowledge at ALL, let alone clearly.
when did i skip back to arguing over grammar? seriously, give me a quote of mine, please, because i'm genuinely confused by that comment. and also explain more why it's not feasible to think of the veteran rewards like other rights that are earned by age/experience?
and i'm gonna quit this after my next response to whatever crap you're gonna post, cuz this is tiring to keep up with your consistent nonsense, and i can tell that i'm not gonna be able to persuade someone who's already made up their mind. i'll let you have the last word after i get in my last.
See, that's your problem, you're trying to "persuade" me. In your mind this is about proving you are right and I am wrong, but you cannot HAVE a wrong opinion, it is subjective.
I believe that Vet rewards are a bad idea. You can disagree all you want, I don't care. But you insist on debating it, and in point of fact, miserably fail to carry out an intelligent debate.
It's still not my problem, we each believe differently but only one of us is being a jerk about it.
You've been arguing about the content of my sentances rather than DEALING with their points all along. I don't know what planet you are on to deny this.
And it is not feasable to award things by aging in a game because time is money, and it is not LIFE it is just a game. They cannot expect people to just wait for elements of a game they already own to gradually appear.
Treating a game like a reality is making the broad assumption that every player will take it that seriously. Not all will.
whatever, as i said earlier, i quit this nonsense as of now. i've quoted your points and argued against them in so many of my posts, yet you continually deny their existence. i'm realizing now that it's impossible to debate with you simply because you refuse to listen. congratulations, you've worn me down simply by ignoring my argument.
you were one of those kids who made their parents buy them "early birthday presents" because you couldn't wait 2 or 3 months until your actual birthday, weren't you. that's basically what the vet system is, is a birthday every 3 months. and just like you won't get a car for ur birthday until you turn at least 16, you won't get wings until your 15 month badge.
Yes, thank you for describing to me the process of waiting. Had you not explained that, I would have been forever perplexed about the passage of time.
If you're quite done with your childish and mediocre attempts at making me look less intelligent, you are free to run along and start flaming people again.
obviously, you NEED everything described to you in detail, because otherwise, it just doesn't penetrate through your thick skull. and again with the hypocrisy. you say i focus on "snipes" more than on the conversation when the most you ever do in retaliation is call me childish. if you're gonna preach to me, at least practice your own preaching first.
seriously, this whole thing you're doing where you basically just say "I'm right and you're childish" over and over is getting pretty old and had no effect the first time. you talk about "adult discussions" when all you can do is bitch and complain, and then when someone tries to explain why you're wrong, you just called them childish.
If you stop being childish I'll stop pointing it out. Observe your latest points, rather than just reading what has already been said -as I have been consistently requesting- and seeing for yourself that I already have everything I need from the vet reward system, you accuse me of "crying" over my "selfish" want for more.
This is childishness, sir, an inability to discuss something without trying to make it petty and personal. My argument has been for the benefit of newbie players.
In this post you insult me thrice in the space of a single sentance and THEN condemn me for calling you childish. That, sir, is hypocrisy.
My argument is intelligent, your inability to even acknolwedge, let alone counter my points clearly proves this. In addition, your assertion that the system is generous is flawed.
A) it's not hypocrisy because i never condemned insults. the closest i've come to doing so is telling you to stop repeatedly calling me childish because you have no other means of arguing your point. B) AS I'VE explained, the veteran rewards are NOT NORMAL CONTENT. we pay for the game, which we get. we DON'T pay for the extra costume pieces. those can't be bought.
I disagree, we do pay for those extra costume peices, because they are already a part of the game which we do pay for.
And it is hypocricy because you were condemning the fact that I called you childish while BEING childish. Saying one thing, and doing another. Are you still not done arguing semantics? You won't win because you are wrong. So quit it.
It's funny how people like you always wait until AFTER you get the last word (and veiled attack) before you "rise above" the argument.
My case has been consistent and responsive, I haven't evaded anything. The facts remain unchanged, a reward system is supposed to encourage you to do something, this doesn't.
I have all the awards I want, so it's not jealousy either. But I understand the temptation to belittle my perspective rather than face a compromise.
it's funny how people like YOU always think they've won just because the more mature person has cooled down and walked away, and yet you continue to provoke them because you're not done being silly yourself.
and don't use the term "little people." they prefer "half-sized big people." :p
Silly rabbit, debates are for people with INTELLIGENT arguements!
Oh don't be contentious, of course I'm not saying "do nothing". But whether you play or not there's nothing you can do to speed it along. And to some people, the rewards ARE the coolest part
If you can't DO anything to get the reward, it's not REWARDING anything. It's not something you can earn. Just put yourself in a newbie's shoes
Good lord, it can't be this difficult for you to wrap your head around why some people might not like it. I think you're just being deliberately argumentative.
how about we say they reward patience? i mean, yeah, it sucks that i have to wait another 2 months before i get my next new costume piece, but damn, look at all the other costume pieces there are. I can live without the anime-style armor for a couple months.
We'll have to agree to disagree then, 'cause I just don't accept it. FYI I have wings, I'm at about 18 months. But I still think it's daft
You don't "put time in", You just let it pass. There's nothing you can DO to earn the reward, so it's not really rewarding anything. A long time player will get reward from his levels. Like Kheldians, that should be how it works
There's no encouragement in telling a newbie that he has to wait years before he gets to the coolest parts of the game.
Obviously you don't deserve a vet reward if not a veteran, which is the whole point of my objecting the reward system ITSELF. You DO deserve to access to all content of the game you are PAYING to play.
You should get a reward for DOING something, not just waiting. That's what a reward IS. The vet rewards are not encouraging you to actually do anything, if I could do something I would. But I won't just wait.
You're supposed to actually earn a reward, and waiting is not earning.
Exactly my point, you don't pay for it, you just have to sit and wait for it to come to you. What is this encouraging you to do? I would be more keen to play the game with my character looking how I want it, than to just twiddle my thumbs for 15 months.
You don't actually earn anything. If you COULD do something to earn it, even simply levelling, then that would be better. But nobody should be expected to just wait for 15 months for something they already deserve.
