all this "concealing" and shading doesn't work when you hit 40. because every area of your face is a problem area, you have under eye circles and bags, sagging skin under the chin or double chin, sparse eyebrows, fallen eyebrows, thinning lips, on and on. by the time you put on all this concealer and shading and contouring every area of your face, your make up looks thick and ridiculous. it may look fine from a distance or on camera, but we don't deal with people day to day from a distance..

@DEMY160 If the color is a neutral contour color or even just a little bit darker. You'll be okay. but if your still worried about it just blend it in a lot. :)

I think this only works if you have a slight double chin, like the days your blooted, or have gained 5lbs. If you have a santa without a beard double chin, I don't think a little makeup is going to do the trick. I use a little extra bronzer under chin area, when I'm using bronzer, or darker powder. I don't really have a double chin either though, but it defines the area more. And she def was using a shade way to dark for her, but it did show up on camera well for demonstration.

This helps a lot... I have a thin build inherited from my mom and a round face and double chin enherited from my dad. I exercise and eat healthy, and have lost a lot of weight, but NONE of it was on my face or chin, so it looks like my head is on the wrong body, which is almost WORSE!!! ))):

Instead of disguising the problem with a make-up illusion, why don't you suggest that viewers actually exercise and eat properly in order to create a better reality?
age, one should know that being thin does not automatically mean healthy and being a little on the plus does not automatically mean lazy, unhealthy slob. every person has it's own perfect weight and body shape and unless you want to really be unhealthy and starve yourself, there is no reasonable way to mess with your genes.
5. there are people who simply don't want to loose weight. no matter what the reasons are for this, if a person choses to be this way, he has every right to do so.
so yes, for some there might be a better way to get rid of the double chin than just conceal it, but for those who don't have an alternative or simply don't want this alternative, this is actually a nice trick (thanks again kandee ^^) and you might just have to accept that ;-) so yeah, after i ran my daly miles, swam my rounds in the pool and after i cooked my beloved vegetables, i'm gonna conceal my double chin and feel the way i think i deserve to ^^
I understand what the technique is about, but wish you would show this technique on someone with a double chin - it is too hard to imagine by watching someone with such a great jaw line! I want to see the real thing! :-)

you seriously apply makeup like an idiot...your eyeliner is unbelievably sloppy and your metallic lipglosses make me a lil queasy...YOU should definitely not be giving advice on makeup until you learn some damn craftsmanship...picking up a recent vogue might help your poor taste as well

Yes she does do professional makeup. If you guys go to her blog site, she has a quick rundown of how she got to where she is right now. And according to the site, she isn't just a regular professional make up artist, she's a celebrity make up artist...which lets be honest, thats REALLY impressive. @angellips10 uh, you apparently don't have a double chin either if you feel this technique doesn't work...I found it works wonders! Yeah, it doesn't make it go away, but it def takes attention away from the unwanted area. Like Kandee said, black makes things appear skinnier and white makes things appear bigger. If you believe wearing black does you justice, why couldn't makeup do the same thing? Maybe you should study makeup techniques before blabbing your mouth.
I thought the dark liner under the chin was a bit too dark. I use a light pink close to the natural color of my skin. Then I brush it on my cheeks and under my chin so there's no lines, its just a soft hue. Also, how did this girl cover a double chin when she didn't have one in the first place? odd
I have to say you are the best. I gained quite a bit of weight with my son and am not meant to be a bigger girl, especially where my jaw line is concerned so thank you! Please keep doing what your doing because its great to find someone who can teach these kinds of tricks
Better than Michelle Phan! Sure MP makes her videos all pretty, like a glossy fashion mag. But who wants to watch an ad talking like a sleepy robot when we can watch Kandee Johnson, a real person who really knows her stuff. MP is rather boring next to KJ. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike MP. But KJ really is a cut above. She's a real pro wheras MP is self-taught like any girl who wears make-up albeit more practiced. It's like the difference between base metal and gold. Kandee is gold!

1. a double chin could be genetic, so there is not much one could do about it
2. there are people in the process of loosing weight who want to conceal the double chin
3. if the skin looses it's elasticity it might create a double chin and there is really not much one can do against normal ageing ^^
4. there are people who live healthy and actually are quite athletic but stl are a little overweight. in this day and

She is a really nice girl and she didn't do anything bad. she is just trying to help people with their makeup or helping them get into makeup. She was the one that got me inspired to do makeup. so she dosent deserve to be treated that way. if you were treated that way you wouldnt like it.

GET REAL!!! don't you think that trying to hide a double chin you don't have is a bit much!!! wouldn't it be much better if you actually showed a woman with a double chin! sure its easy to do a video and show how to reduce a double chin WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE ONE!!. Also want to point out to all of you that really need help because you really have a double chin!!!, that using darker make-up will only stand out, and you will definitely be bringing the unwanted attention straight to that double!!

@angellips10 actully...i unfortunalty have one and until i lose the weight, ive tried this and it does work. id drawing a dark line is all you're doing, then yes. it will look like shit. or you could try doing what she just spent 3 mins explaining

@angellips10 uh, you apparently don't have a double chin either if you feel this technique doesn't work...I found it works wonders! Yeah, it doesn't make it go away, but it def takes attention away from the unwanted area. Like Kandee said, black makes things appear skinnier and white makes things appear bigger. If you believe wearing black does you justice, why couldn't makeup do the same thing? Maybe you should study makeup techniques before blabbing your mouth.

I thought the dark liner under the chin was a bit too dark. I use a light pink close to the natural color of my skin. Then I brush it on my cheeks and under my chin so there's no lines, its just a soft hue. Also, how did this girl cover a double chin when she didn't have one in the first place? odd

Better than Michelle Phan! Sure MP makes her videos all pretty, like a glossy fashion mag. But who wants to watch an ad talking like a sleepy robot when we can watch Kandee Johnson, a real person who really knows her stuff. MP is rather boring next to KJ. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike MP. But KJ really is a cut above. She's a real pro wheras MP is self-taught like any girl who wears make-up albeit more practiced. It's like the difference between base metal and gold. Kandee is gold!

After u watch the bloopers u'll know it's bcuz in some sense she treats herself like the host of a show or a celeb kinda thg, wh's been working in the industry for ages and dislike her work.
KJ, however, is like talking to a friend, and she doesnt need to think, or process to speak, I really want a friend like her, so nice and cute=)
