  • what do you call a guy getting towed into a 6ft wave? = HOMO

  • lame.... those are not to big to paddle in am i not mistaken? where is everyone?!?! No one in the surf there. All tow-in were failed attempts.. go get your pin tail out and have some fun

  • I live in San Diego and don't get up to Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo very often. But I recall one day in about September of 1964 when the waves at 22nd Street in Hermona Beach, next door to Manhattan, were consistently 12 feet and higher. This wasn't winter storm surf or choppy. It was early morning, glassed off, the tide was in so the waves were holding up well, really picture perfect conditions. I will never forget that day.

  • those waves were big

  • You wasted 1:35 of my life watching this non-surfing vid. I saw like 5 tow attempts and not one wave ridden. LOL. Please delete this video posting. Thank you kindly.

  • worst video ever

  • I was on the ski. We were doing lifeguard training. The waves that were breaking didn't have any shape so give the tow guys a break. All you guys with the big stones, where were you this last swell. Very few paddled out. Oh, it probably wasn't big enough . . . .

  • The older we get...The bigger it was. I was there late 60's through 75.

  • dude he caught one wave that actually broke then kicked out

  • hmmm dont ever remeber any one getting towed in on that day. surfed break wall that day.

  • By the same token- who had a mate with a jet ski? Herbie Fletcher was debatably the pioneer of the jet ski in the early seventies and made the machine sing ! A friggin' Godsend for surf life saving & tow in crazies !

  • I grew up in MB & in the late 70's we had a tremendous swell that presented

20+ ft at el porto, Indicator was 10ft

that day. (with nice shape). No tow in needed, just a good pair of balls.

only wish there were vids of that epic day.

  • Yah sure you were out there.

  • THANK YOU Senator Robert " BOB" Beverly for your service.

  • WTF are they towing in for?Lame i use to paddle out Elporto 15' when it would hit the bottom of the Manhatten Beach Pier Towing Gay!It's not even that big!

  • In the old days it used to get bigger than this -- 12 to 15 feet -- at 22nd street in Hermosa Beach, which is next door to Manhattan Beach. I don't know if the shore conditions have changed. It's been 35 years since I was there.

  • no way this is manhattan i mean they have good waves but ya i think this is el porto manhattan dont have great big waves but im not sure

  • Manhattan Beach, CA does not have a rock barrier. This is El Porto.

  • I hope you jetski mongers are ready for when it's 25 foot plus. There is a right off of Marina del Rey that breaks all the way to Gillis when it's that big but mushes a bit halfway in which is good for safety. Its formed by the Ballona Creek. It would have to be 40 foot at El Porto for MDR to break 25.

  • Wasn't that actually Porto ? And was there really a need to be towed in ?? Kookish...

  • I think during the entire video clip I saw the surfer actually catch 1 wave. Wow. That guy should go pro !

  • You cant paddle out through the surf when it gets this big. Easier to tow

  • im pretty sure it was dockweiler

  • GREAT PLACES TO SURF!! Australia, Hawaii*, Indo, Bali, Spain, Micronesia and the East Coast lately!

  • this shit sucks. it doesnt show one wave being ridden

  • that's because it's socal.

  • whats that have to do with one wave being ridden. socal has some really good waves. trestles, huntington, newport, swamis, oceanside. LA sucks dick tho

  • ?There are no jetties in Manhattan Beach! Had to be El Porto or Dockweiler......duh.
