@reptilespantoso uhhh bettas are all selectively bred, in captivity. The wild ones look vastly different from these, to a point you can't mix up wild and domestic bettas. Secondly, bettas are fresh water fish, thusly no coral reefs anywhere in sight. Thirdly, they come from rice paddies, where children can scoop them up with their hands (like minnows in America.) You happen to be wrong on every count.

@simonecantal No he will not! he needs way more space at least 20 litres! If you do daily water changes he may survive but not thrive. It would be like keeping a human in the closet if you feed them and kept them clean they would survive but they wouldn't be happy or healthy and they would not live long.

I used to have my Betta next to my TV but I moved him to my book shelf thinking he would be happier because it was quieter, But now he always has his fins and tail flared out. Is he mad? Is he scared?

@Sissy2468 He may see other bettas or himself from any mirror nearby. He is territorial creature, that easily get mad when he sees other around. I use 6x6x8 inch aquarium approx 1 gallon tank.

@Sissy2468 he might be seeing his own reflection in the tank glass. watch to see if hes favoring a particular side of the tank and maybe rearrange his decor to cover that wall. Also think about getting him a bigger tank, maybe a 2.5 (general rule of fish, one gallon per inch of fish) Make sure he's got hidey holes, and plenty of stuff to keep him busy. I put fake silk flowers in my tanks and they float around from the filter, my betta love em. Also look into a heater and a filter.

This is Indonesia dayak cambodian, mostly the body color is steel or grey, not blue. If it is blue we call it blue red combination. I forgot how much I sold it.
