  • is it normal for japanese to have a messy home?

  • lovely vid =D

  • when you were there, what did you call everyone? what did u call your host families mum, and her son and your host friend. and wat did u call your friends at school??

  • What does the little girl say at 1:47?

  • LOL i love how you had Jun in your tribute.

    and the clips of him&Mao 8D LOVE THEM TOGETHER(;

im going to Japan this summer, but not as an exchange student

i really wish i did that while i was still in high school :/

  • Matsu Jun, i just love him. I'm going to Japan at the beggining of next year, and I haven't even begin studying ._. omg i think i'll die over there .

    Love your videos :)

  • Hi there! I'm 13 and I realllllllly want to live in Japan, but I only know a couple of Japanese phrases. I want to know if there are a lot of people who speak english in Japan. And if not was it easy for you to learn Japanese??

  • @twigirlforever You should definitely wait a bit. Don't go until you are in at least your second year of high school. Going to Japan after you know the language makes the trip A LOT more fun. I'm going second semester next year and I'll have taken three years worth of Japanese (I just started a few months ago). You have to REALLY think about why you want to go. Don't just think 'oh it looks pretty, I want to go there.' You might be taking away someone elses chance if you aren't sure

  • Hi! I'm about 13 and my parents said i could go to Japan when I become old enough! I'm probably going through Rotary program. I wanted to ask you if there is anything else i should know besides the language before going? (I have Rosetta Stone and some basic word dictionaries) I know the things like take your shoes off before entering a building and what to say before and after eating but the only other things I can think of, come from anime and I don't know if I can completely trust that!

  • @Haruhi324 You should definitely wait a bit. Don't go until you are in at least your second year of high school. Going to Japan after you know the language makes the trip A LOT more fun. I'm going second semester next year and I'll have taken three years worth of Japanese (I just started a few months ago). You have to really think about why you want to go. Do you want to go because you like anime and you want to go to the place where it all started, do you just like the scenery, ect. *nagging*

  • @teslagirl16 Thanks for the reply! I had planned on going in 11th or 12th grade and I'm studying the language hard right now! I don't really know why I want to go to Japan though. However, I don't think its necissary to have a reason to want to experience something new! I've been fasinated with Japanese culture since I was like 8 and I don't even know how that got started. I guess thats a reason but still thank you for replying! xD

  • @Haruhi324 Yeah, that's totally cool. And really, if it feels like the right thing to do then that's ok too. The thing that I hate is when people just want to go because they like manga, or just because they like Jpop, it just seems like they're stealing the chance from someone else... SORRY, nagging again... Well I hope you have fun! Good luck!

  • @Haruhi324 Also, If you're taking Japanese at school then they will teach you some basic stuff like how to hold you chopsticks (no waving them around while eating D:<) or when and how to bow, etc. And even if you don't know at first, you'll learn once you get there. It's not like they're gonna get mad at you if you make a mistake. You do, however, want to learn from your mistakes. We don't want them thinking all Americans are ignorant people :'(

  • aww your host family is soo cute!

  • do you know if the have any schools with long skirted uniforms o.o? and when you join the exchange program do they automatically assign you to a family or that's only if your underage and do they help you with your Japanese in school like an ESL kinda thing

  • I really really really want to go to Japan.. But the problem is the money.. And I'm just 15 to fridag and no job here in my town is available for me to work on... I REALLY hope I can get a job..And I wonder how much Norway give away in loan:(

  • i'm 13 and i'm going to be an exchange student in japan when i get to the age 15 :]

So i'll be in 9th grade and i thinks thats the first year of high school?

I'm not so good with the names of each grade like 'high school' v__v! Anyways, does it matter if i dont know japanese when i get there ^D^;;?

Oh yea, the place in japan where i'm going to be at when i get to 9th grade is shizuoka. Have anyone been there? :D

  • @SqueeOriginals ive got a question, how do you actually get to be an exchange student cuz.. im like 14 and im in the 9th grade

  • @SqueeOriginals

There are a ton of ways to become an exchange student; through an organization, like YFU or Rotary or AFS; or you can have an arrangement made with your school and a sister school in Japan.

I didn't really know that much Japanese when I got there, I had studied by myself for a year beforehand though. Good luck :)

  • @SqueeOriginals OMG LUCKY!!!! WHERE DO U SIGN UP?!! :OOOOO

  • @LimeLime99Zone

you go to their website and fill out this paper thingy and mail it then pay the money for the uniforms and such :) but i decided to not to go anymore. if i do go, i'll have to do the same grade again when i come back to america.. which i'm not so happy to be doing :))
