Very nice, I have longtime friends here, from okinawa. Their technique is very similar. Great food. Since they have shown us the real way to cook japanese foods, we have done away with the bottled & packaged ones, & we were missing out on flavor. ;-)
GREAT VIDEO! The chicken looked very oishii! I also never knew that about Teriyaki sauce. I'm glad I was able to learn something new :D I think I will try to learn to make your chicken.
I never knew that about teriyaki sauce! Thank you for the vid im never buying another bottle of teriyaki sauce! lol now im hungry that looked delicious :) thank you for your videos
Thank you for your comment! I have never seen a teriyaki bottle, so I cant say good or bad about it. I am actually very curious:) By the way, when you cook pork or fish teriyaki, you can add some ginger to hide back the meaty or fishy smell:)
@japanese1cooking i tried making my own teriyaki using your recipe and it tastes better than the bottled stuff so thank you for that and thank you for the tip about the ginger going to have to try that next time :D
Wow!! Thank you for making the sauce and your compliment!! One more tip, if you cover pork in starch and cook it in a table spoon of oil and then add teriyaki ingredients along with ginger, it is super tasty.
AND, I have one more tip. Ginger goes bad fairly quick but you always buy it in a big block. I always cut it into slices soon after I purchase it and put in tapperwear and into the freezer. Good for a couple of months:) This way, you dont have to waste 2/3 of it each time you buy a block of ginger!
It's true that Chicken Breast here is expensive compared to chicken thigh. Many people here don't like the fact that it's dark meat and harder to cook due to us not having many uses for them Lol I love your videos! <3
Thank you so so much!!! I think, in general, eastern cooking uses more of thigh meat. I will try to cook more with chicken breast or fillet(and still Japanese style) so it is more suited for western cooks. It is fun getting comments:)
