actually richie did it by strummin the 3rd and 4th string open, then bar his 1st finger across the 3rd fret, then bar his 3rd finger across the 5th fret. then it repeats but he bars his 3rd finger across the 6th fret then slides it back to the fifth. then its open, then 3rd fret, then 5th fret then back to the 3rd then open.all done on the 3rd and 4th string.and thats the riff
