Oh, could you now, Breezeman? This documentary could do w/o the same people who, almost 70 years ago, defended our country, battled through this hellhole, and actually survived to tell about it.. This long after... Who the F else should the director use as a source? Steven Siegal? How audacious, ignorant, and disrespectful u are to say something like that! I think these vets/heroes, myself, and the rest of humanity could "do without" YOU, but that's just my opinion, now isn't it? Wake up c
Best ally of the USMC during hte Pacific war, those stupid Japanese banzai massed infantry attacks...you lure them out of their holes and hose them down.
Are you guys familiar with "Stan Gajda"? That may be a stupid question (forgive me if it is). If you aren't familiar you might like to do a google on his name.
Sorry for the confusion, mate (alanccoop)... was your post to me or to 2bn? My display doesn't show indentations for comments to posts properly right now.
It's on Webshots. In the Nauru album there are photos of various bits of artillery as well as an unexploded 500lb American bomb. The Japanese established a hospital on the island in a cave at the centre of the island. The hut that I lived in (behind the mini-mokes) was use by the Japs as a machine-gun post (you could see where they had knocked down some of the wall)
Youtube obviously don't want me to give you a website address so I suggest you do a google on "Nauru Japanese hospital phosphate". You will get the site I mean. If you did a search on "Nauru Japanese WW11" I imagine you would get a lot more interesting sites.

@Bander1 The japanese learned throughout the war to not use bunzai attacks.
In later battles the japanese used mainley defencive tactics. The last large bunzai
attack was at saipan wich was also the largest with 3000 troops attacking.
