Notice how quickly the Eagles' blitz got to Aikman! He had to get rid of the ball immediately, the timing was way off, and after Golic got the interception, Aikman had to make the tackle himself! This underscores how bad the Cowboys were in 1989. Jimmy Johnson knew 1989 was a lost cause, but he was thinking long-term by making the biggest trade in NFL history with Herschel Walker and taking the Cowboys to the Super Bowl only four years later.

aikman was just dumping it to avoid the sack, but golic was so still he blended in with the turf and aikman didn't see him
