It's possible that the sample of Colours for the soundtrack on iTunes is playing a random version of Colours since Donovan recorded so many of them. Can anyone who owns the soundtrack confirm that the version in the film and on the soundtrack is the same?
@camerapants My apologies that the iTunes soundtrack contains an alternate version of Colours. The version used in the film was from a 1/4" reel-to-reel recording I had for many, many years, and when the soundtrack CD was being mastered my recording wasn't available and someone from the label chose to use this version -- I believe because it was from an album in release at the time. When I found out I tried to rectify the choice, but it was too late. So ... sorry. My eye wasn't on the ball.
@avary - if you happen to run across the version you're mentioning on spotify, would you mind right-clicking the song to copy/paste the link here? Thank you!
Fantastic movie I can still remember the first time I saw it, I think its fantastic the director took the time to upload these and in some of the videos he mentions stories that took place in the movie.. much kudos man
This is such a beautiful use of music and montage, one of my favourite scenes from any film ever, and The Rules of Attraction itself is also one of the best novel-to-film adaptations i've seen. Please keep making things like this! It's absolutely stunning.
love your movie~

Thanks for posting this. Kudos on calling it transformative in defense of its availability for fair use.
