Great fish!! but, You may want to check out this!! PFD, (SafaSwim flotation).. aid worn around the waist, like a belt, at the pull of the rip-cord it inflates into a buoyancy tube to keep you afloat.
Well done for releasing it, i hate to see people take too many of the big ones home. I release everything over 60cm, as they don't taste any good anyway.
Nice video. Gotta love the gritty, clunky sound of a good old American made Penn Spinfisher! You're a better person than me as that fish would've been introduced to some hot coals and cold beer!
us humans are very greedy once you control your greed you dont need to put every thing into the freezer. the fish can reproduce in the sea finds it very hard in the freezer.
@Mcewenmarine ,, yes this would be true if you allow the weight of the fish to be put on the gills , it rips the nerves then arrtieries,, with 20yrs of experiance its not nice to let a dead fish go.
@stifffy14 That fish is decades old. Some people would rather be ethical...I mean taking a fish that old home just for a meal...where is the logic (Snapper that big are the breeding stock) and ethics in doing such a thing.

Good to see you put it back but it may not have lived after you held it with your fingers up it's gills.
