the problem i have with michael jackson week on american idol is that the songs are impossibly hard for a normal person with a good voice. particularly this song and his other balads.

theres a reason why MJ was the best, just listen to other great singers try to sing his songs and its easy to see it.

I agree. I'm still not sure how Kris Allen won. He wasn't that good compared to the rest of the top five. Matt, Danny, Adam, and Allison were all better than him in terms of raw talent.

what really helped Kris to win was his rendition of heartless. Kris is actually good at taking a song and making it work for him. The others would make them work for the song. Now I'm not saying none of them are good they're all fantastic but I can understand why Kris won.

Yeah, I can see what you're saying. He is good at taking a song and doing something artistic with it. I only meant that from a purely technical standpoint, Kris was not even in the same league as the rest in the top five. And I'm sure that a lot of people take into account general musicianship and creativity when voting, but I usually support those that are able to consistently hit every difficult note. So Kris was never my favorite. He bored me. But he was still very good.

he should have won for sure. he lost his confidence tho as soon as the live shows got goin. but if you watch him performing on the Ellen Show, after getting voted off, he is AMAZING. cause all the pressure is off and he's totally unafraid to be himself and sing whatever comes out, cause he must be just so relieved to have been released from the competition. it is a lot of pressure im sure, n unfortunately some really talented ppl cant deliver under that kinda pressure.
