I've witnessed something less successful. I dated a woman who has a 15 year old son. She and her lesbian partner split up. They lost custody of her partners 5 year old daughter. The boy acted out with vandalism & arson. in the time I dated her, we did family activities together. I acted to the boy like a dad to his son and developed a close bond to him. She stopped seeing me for another woman. Now the kid has lost a dad figure. And I hope and pray that he does not mess up.

Marriage comes with it in this culture many rights, including the right to visit your spouse in hospital, not having to testify against your spouse in court, joint custody of children, etc. And, beyond the legal benefits, forming a bond of commitment so formal in front of your friends, family, and community slightly increases the chances of the relationship lasting a bit longer.

Jesus clarified the meaning of the OT & rebuked their tradition. The “new ear” or the change between the OT&NT is from commission to omission. OT was, “do this, don’t do this, period.” The NT we are told to love G-d & our neighbor as ourselves. We fulfill the Law by living the Gospel. We can live the Law yet not live the gospel.

In fact, early Christianity had no problems accepting gay marriages.As for the holy covenant between man & womn, if I'm not mistaken, mentioned only once in the Bible. I find homosexuality unnatural. Looking at our bodies, males are made to fit in females. Looking in nature we are the only known species (other than dolphins so far (who even truly knows if that is true)) to have sex for pleasure. Sex is for reproduction purposes so gays are going against nature. Without outside help, gays can NOT reproduce.

I've witnessed something less successful. I dated a woman who has a 15 year old son. She and her lesbian partner split up. They lost custody of her partners 5 year old daughter. The boy acted out with vandalism & arson. in the time I dated her, we did family activities together. I acted to the boy like a dad to his son and developed a close bond to him. She stopped seeing me for another woman. Now the kid has lost a dad figure. And I hope and pray that he does not mess up.

It is not about how good one kid is raised or how good one couple is in raising children… it is the structure of a man and woman that is the ideal situation for rising kids. This is why marriage should be upheld as man and woman. All other relationships do not need a public endorsement like this fine young man has shown.

Have you ever heard of arranged marriages, which has been practiced just as long as gays? It is a way of uniting family's for political or other such reasons. Arranged marriages also have a track record for actual lasting because if they divorce then they have brought shame to their families and sometimes war. My friend you are fighting a battle for something you do not understand. If marriage is only based on love, then marriage will never last and it is pointless.

So in this shortened txt(which I do not like to do) you can see yes it has been around, but it is an abomination. So I don't know why you get angry at Christians. Yes some of us are annoying I know a few myself. However, we believe it is just wrong and perverse and it makes our stomachs churn. It is very gross. However, I will and have loved my gay friends, and I pray for their salvation. The act of Marriage is not always for "love." Love is a feeling that comes and goes.

If you've not encountered HIS love, you will never understand true love or give true love. I'm a born again Christian. I met God personally. I know God accept me the way I am. People put me as bisexual but I'm just me. And I know God takes me the way I am too.

@theexecutivedecision How does he contradict himself? The point is he isn't any different from you and me, and he was raised by a gay couple. Had he not revealed that fact, you would not have known (as he already stated). He's exceptional because he's standing up for his family, at a time when many people disapprove of his parents' love. It is exceptional because he isn't just spouting what he THINKS- his very own parents are gay. He was raised by them. He's living proof there's nothing wrong.

I always find it so amazing how people like you who obviously agree with gay marriage and express the need for non judgement are so quick to put someone down for their "bullshit religion". I have gay friends. I have gay friends who live as partners. And while my Catholic faith teaches that I cannot be accepting of a homosexual marriage, it also teaches me to love them no less. I guess that's just me thinking for myself.

I am against gay marriage because I believe marriage is suppose to be a holy covenant between God and 1 man and 1 woman. Due to the cultural affect marriage has to be incorporated into the law. Marriage has been cheapened with divorce, Vegas, etc. I believe gay marriage is just another way of cheapening it. I, honestly, don't understand why unbelievers want it so badly. Cont.

@sassyrulenumberone I understand they want a family that is natural instinct and wants, but to have the religious aspect of marriage...Marriage is an example of Christ and the church. If the gays were fighting to have a right to live with each other or to not be persecuted then I would not be fighting them. I just hate that the beauty of marriage has become so marred. I am just want to save what little beauty there is left of the covenant with God and the analogy it depicts.

@JedaqiaAngel A man and woman cannot achieve the absolute peek of pleasure with out the opposite side. They can achieve lots of pleasure, but not the complete peek. I cannot and will not be swayed on that. Sorry don't waste your time. Also you can't deny that sex's mainly purpose is to reproduce and same sexs cannot reproduce on their own. The only reason as seen in animals (other than possibly dolphins) is for reproduction. It is not natural.

I got nothing against your post... but if you think that you can not have this "complete peak" without being recognized as a married couple then you do not know what love is.
Marriage was back in the day to justify sex between two people... it has evolved from then. It still stands as the only relationship capable of continuing the human race in a healthy way. No other relationships need the endorsement of the community.

I am involved with my community and respected not just in the Christian world. I have reached many personal goals such as a 3.5 gpa, and being a wife and mother. my intention is to preserve the beauty of marriage as much as possible.

I will admit that understanding gays are a new subject for me and my research. however, this is what I have so far found based on my beliefs in the bible and what I see in nature. I am not here to fight a one sided argument, but I was trying to figure out thoughts of other and flaws in my thoughts. I am not swayed...I still thing it is still morally wrong, but I also thing sex out of wedlock is wrong. I am still incredibly old fashion on many issues

@41mayflower Urm...I understand. I'm sorry for being a lil judgmental too. Guess bcoz I've dealt with many Christian who thinks I don't love God bcoz I'm openly bisexual. My pastor is okay but I think he secretly prays for me. Lol! Many had throw me so many Bible verses (S'pecially Levict')so I made my own research to counter them off. Some refuse to be even near me bcoz they're afraid I turned them gay. But most ppl are nice.

Yes the fundamental/foundation is the same. The OT culture was built around a harsher tradition & U can see it come full circle in westboro. Jesus clarified the meaning of the OT & rebuked their tradition. The “new ear” or the change between the OT&NT is from commission to omission. OT was, “do this, don’t do this, period.” The NT we are told to love G-d & our neighbor as ourselves. We fulfill the Law by living the Gospel. We can live the Law yet not live the gospel.

Something that challenges the Old Testament. The Bible is God inspired word but it is not well preserved or historically correct. C'mon do your theology study properly... Peace.

But OT does not allow mixing with the Gentiles or do u remember a few parable that has been told by Jesus like turning the other cheeks? OT was built around a harsher culture. When Jesus came he showed many ways that was different from OT even concerning the Sabbath. Maybe challenging is not the right word. But the tearing of the temple to built again showed a new era; the beginning of GN & the replacement of OT.

@JedaqiaAngel "I come not to destroy the law but fulfill it." Jesus has said this phrase. This means we are not to discount the old testament. The law is a mirror to show us where we fail. We cannot possibly uphold every aspect of the law which is why Jesus came. We are not to discredit the old law. Also I do know his full love. However I am a sinful creature everybody (except Jesus) is. We have not perfected love and cannot. My theology is sound and growing.

@41mayflower Actually marriage exist before religion & same sex marriage occurs way back before Christianity. In fact, early Christianity had no problems accepting gay marriages.As for the holy covenant between man & womn, if I'm not mistaken, mentioned only once in the Bible. This probably reflect the culture of that people during that time. But it doesn't reflect other culture in the world. In ancient time, India, China, Egypt, Mesopotamia & many oth actually has gay marriages.

I find homosexuality unnatural. Looking at our bodies, males are made to fit in females. Looking in nature we are the only known species (other than dolphins so far (who even truly knows if that is true)) to have sex for pleasure. Sex is for reproduction purposes so gays are going against nature. Without outside help, gays can NOT reproduce.
I would like to point out there are exceptions for every rule. I believe there is a reason for the need of two parents: one male the other female.

Why do so called "Christians" flock to homosexuality like its a bigger sin than others? Ever seen "Christians" gathered outside an all-you-can-eat buffet protesting that the people inside are committing gluttony? Trying to pass laws saying that gluttons can't get married?Ever seen "Christians" protest coveting outside a mall on black Friday? Ever seen a "Christian" trying to make divorce illegal? Seems to me that "Christians" cherry pick the sins they protest and are quite ok with other sins.
