Whats teh difference betweent eh 18-55 and teh 18-50 lens? I notice there are different ones depending on where you shop?

yeah. i agree i didnt like the Xti body,as much. didnt fit too snug in my hands. but the Xsi since they redesigned it. waaay nicer.

this probably would have been my second choice. no Sony's. lol. if ur getting an SLR . u have to get ones where companies are experts at making them.

Yes, it is fast enough as I have photographed moving people and vehicles, as long as it's in good light you should have no problems with fast moving subjects.

Its a good idea to order a 4 battery lithium batterie pack.. can you tell me how long does it last?

Congrats! You will be very happy with the K200D.

Actually the camera comes with 4 Energizer Lithium Ion batteries that should last for around 1,000 shots. However, I recommend 4 (or more) Sanyo Eneloop Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries along with a charger which should give you around 700+ shots per charge.

It can take ANY pentax lens ever made that uses a k mount right?

Cause I have 3 other lenses from a pentax 35mm SLR that I am hoping to use.

Yes, it can take any Pentax lens every made in the k mount form. If it's a screw mount lens however, you will need an adapter, but the screw mount lenses were the earliest made so you probably don't have one.

Since it's your first dSLR, let me say this: if you want to shoot great photos, just remember it's not the camera doing the shooting, you are. Get your photos critiqued by others, shoot often, and lenses aren't everything =)

IMHO having proper/good composition is much more important than having great lenses. I've seen waaay too many photographers waste their time trying to figure out which lens is the sharpest or whatever when they could've been out practicing and shooting!

I know people with 'just' P&S cameras and they take awesome photos with 'em. Having a DSLR would simply give them more creative control.

Your right! I'm trying to use my K200D as much as possible and getting to know it as much as I can. Currently I only have the kit lens and soon I will purchase the DA 50-200mm. It's definitely a step up from my point and shoot and am still getting used to the new DOF controls and learning how to expose properly.

Don't forget how great the shake reduction is, able to shoot with a long zoom..hand held and still get clear shots at slow shutter speeds.

You said that k200d is more solid than nikon D40. I dont agree with that. Nikon has beter grip and beter body in every aspect and you must know that Nikon has got this body very long now and is still beter than new k200d and has got no concurence. I agree that it is much havier, you must put in the batteries and it will be even more... Lol....

I noticed another video of yours, I am also a recovering Fujiholic. LOL The low noise at high ISOs and shake reduction were the deal makers for me in getting the k200d, The Fuji s8000fd sucks at even 400 ISO

Yup! I'm glad I made the jump, I am very happy with Pentax, now I can use ISO 400 without reserves unlike my Fuji S9100.
