@tamia1980 OH NO. pleaseee dont let my videos scare you. I post them to give you all a heads up so you dont make the same mistakes that I did...however, nursing school iss not easy, but just takes lots of commitment and dedication!...you have to put in way more work than you did with taking pre-reqs ;) you can do it hun! you just have to really want it :)
the reality of it is that you teach yourself with the books they give you and the professor just goes over what you taught yourself then on to the next chapter anybody lost? good chapter 16! i'll be giving a quiz on the next 35 medical terms tommorow morning see you tommorow..It just grinds my teeth (peter griffin voice)*
nursing school is by far the most soul crushing experience of all time. we have to memorize the chemical mechanisms of hundreds of different medications, their properties, routes of administrations, pathophysiology, chemistry, abnormal psychology, and sociology. and yet people still see nurses as people who were too "stupid" to go to medical school.
@cthorste its more like doctors are the lazy ones, they do nothing for anyone- except write prescriptions, nurses and their assistants actually are the only ones helping and caring for the people.
nursing school was hell......i failed an entire semester......in 5 sec.....during my last skills check i didn't aspirate on an IM injection.......passed all the tests, math competency, clinic hours, attendance, and grade.......and had to retake everything over again.....uuugggggg....could never do it agin...so glad i'm done.....7 days a week for over 2 yrs(worked full time job as well)........
Girl, you are so right. It is a cold winter storm. It is so funny but true. It's almost like being in the military, you have what it takes or you don't! I am currently going into my second semester so I'm really stressed!
@donnaandjay As a nurse who grad in May 2010, I thought I had what it took. I grad with a BSN, 3.5 GPA, dept honors & have yet to be able to find a nursing job anywhere: hosp, nsg homes, home care (who want 3-5 years experience). I was told by my local hosp after 1 year of applying, calling my grades were not good enough & that they want people in top 1% of their class, i.e. 3.9 or 4.0& that they have very strict criteria. All this because so many new grads out there & they can cherry pick.
Oh girl...it IS hard. you ALWAYS have more than one right answer, but you better pick the MOST right answer...I hate that, but it doesn't end. Girl, I graduate in December, I thought i couldn't do, wouldn't make it, folks said I wasn't smart enough to do this, but I did and I'm doing it. Got a job lined up and everything girl. Just take each day one day at a time cuz if you don't, you'll get WAY stressed with all the test, studying, and validations. peace
Only hard thing about nursing school is not procrastinating

The reality is that nursing school is tough. You need courage and support to get through it.

i'm always worried about the people are they nice or mean
i mean they have papers about the horizontal violence specifically in nursing
so it's so bad that if you google it things come up in detail
that the thing stopping me the most
