This version is crap. Not even going to compare it to the original, because that would be a disgrace to REO's work. Simply taking the song as a song (and not comparing it to another work), it's not good. Heavy autotuning and a poor vocal range are noticable. Who ever was giving him direction during the recording process must have stepped out to lunch when they were doing this, because it lacks any trace of emotion. It sounds like he's just reading lyrics off of a piece of paper in front of a fan

So it's completely understandable that they'd help Cory with just the opposite. Personally, auto tune isn't a deal-breaker for me... I still think he sounds great regardless, and I don't find a little extra boost every now and then (not always or entirely) to be a bad thing at all.

In closing, Glee had no interest in making good, quality music here. They just take work from talented musicans, underperform their songs, then, in most cases, forget about them. They just sing songs as long as people sadly keep coming for more, believing what they're hearing is actually entertaining.

Glee producers are stuck with a shit TV show they need to augment with as many songs as humanly possible, and with their desire to make a world record for most songs performed.
