@obsidianstatue I have both Chinese and Tibetan friends and they both say that the CCP favors the Han. A Han can get a business permit in a few days while a Tibetan has to wait ONE YEAR. Tibetans are taught Tibetan in their schools, but it is obvious that won't benefit them because everything is in Mandarin. There is discrimination against Tibetans in employment and the best jobs are given to the Han. This information comes not from the Dalai Lama but from people who have actually been there.

The factors for a boom arent just connected to a persons savings. I never claimed savings are the only contributing factor to a "boom"; poor choice of words on my part considering a "boom" is usually a bad thing (whereas real growth is good). The boom usually occurs because of credit expansion through monetary policy, not real savings, and thus it will always lead to a recession/depression.
Well "booms" arent necessarily bad things as economic "booms" which occur in sustainable markets can lead to not only growth but concrete growth, rather than growth that expands and contracts. @obsidianstatue I have both Chinese and Tibetan friends and they both say that the CCP favors the Han. A Han can get a business permit in a few days while a Tibetan has to wait ONE YEAR. Tibetans are taught Tibetan in their schools, but it is obvious that won't benefit them because everything is in Mandarin. There is discrimination against Tibetans in employment and the best jobs are given to the Han. This information comes not from the Dalai Lama but from people who have actually been there.

@uranian99 it was Mao's red guard that destroyed tibetan monastaries,(they also destoryed much more Hann Chinese relics) it was Mao's red guard who forced SOME tibetan monks in major cities to abandon their religion(they forced MUCH more Han Chinese to stop religious practices) so the notion of somhow tibetans are targeted is basless, and also keep refering to what happened 40 years ago and alleging samething is still happedning is the method of daLie lama misleads people.

In September authorities detained 7 Tibetan school children ages 14 & 15 in the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture for allegedly writing slogans on public buildings calling for the return of the Dalai Lama. According to reports, during their incarceration they were severely beaten and subjected to electric shocks. One child was hospitalized. Any thoughts?

You've mentioned relics destroyed. How about human lives lost? Or does that mean nothing to you in your view of history? I include Tibetans, Han, Mongols, and others as the victims of Mao's regime. @jewishwarrior666 The Dalai Lama himself established a democratic government in exile. He even gave it the power to impeach the office of the Dalai Lama. So much for your charge of "theocracy." One of the first things he did was try to find employment for exiled Tibetans and establish hospitals and schools to receive refuges. Saying that the Dalai Lama was hoarding all the money in Tibet is like saying the president of the USA owns all the money collected from taxes. How lame can you get?

Domestic politics played more important role during the latest political show. The currency exchange rate is NOT the cause for the US trade deficit with China. In the 1980s, US had a large trade deficit and forced Japan to appreciate its Yen rapidly. Japan's economy stagnated but the US trade deficit with Japan continued to grow! The problem is that we Americans are not producing enough tings that the Chinese consumers demand. And, we won't sell them what they want (like high tech stuff).

NOt that I agree w/ abolishing MW, but you can increase the number of jobs when you pay less, as more jobs will be available. Now that doesnt mean Americans will work them, as most americans are educated and are interested in a life. Think of the reason why theres a lot of people lobbying for open borders. They want the mexicans and the like, to do this work. No well educated American would work for that wage.

Yes thats a condition of hetero-genous environments that have things we dont have, like an under developed economic system and infrastructure to provide for their overpopulated country. And yes, people in America will be competing with china, india, etc (heck we are now). The wage can go as low as what people are willing to work for (not that I like that). China can out perform america because it has one thing we dont have....a huge cheap labor pool.

A population that saves over 30% of their income helps as well, is the largest creditor nation on the planet as opposed to the largest debtor, has lower taxes/regulations than many of its competitors, and that they make things that people are willing to buy. For the first time in history the emerging markets are financing the developed nations; watch how much they boom when they stop lending the US money to buy their own products.

Yes a population that saves helps, but it doesnt necessarily mean the nation will boom as a result of the savings. They have to have a population to sell the products to, and a price that people can afford. A population that saves 30% of a low income wont have much to spend in the end, if the price of the goods are simply too expensive. IE the quality of life that they are selling to americans is too expensive. Theyll simply end up w/ the same result we have. A heirarchical ladder.

Savings is what permits the entire productive process to lengthen, thereby increasing output and making goods cheaper for all the people. If the Chinese government would just leave the currency alone and let it appreciate they would all have an increased standard of living and a substantially increased purchasing power. They will also do better than their government stops lending the US money it will never be able to pay back without printing the money.

Well, thats partially right. Savings will permit the process to lengthen, but only if the labor force are able to use the products (or afford it) and/or purchase the infrastructure needed. A car is no good if you cant afford fuel. So simple increased output isnt a fact, as it relies on income disparities to happen. Since the vast majority of chinese workers dont have the "luxury" of space (w/ some electricity), then buying bulky power consumers is infeasible. China has more work to do.

Isn't it a given that if the finished goods are not desired they won't be purchased? That's up to entrepreneurs to forecast. If the "labor force" couldn't use or afford them, the entrepreneurs and owners of the factors would be suffering losses; also a given.

Yes it is a given, but you stated that the country will experience a boom. Thats a guess, but thats all. Im simply trying to show you why they may not experience the "boom" that you anticipate. The factors for a boom arent just connected to a persons savings. The ability to participate in a market makes "booms" happen on a larger scale if more people can be a part of the consumption process.

I never claimed savings are the only contributing factor to a "boom"; poor choice of words on my part considering a "boom" is usually a bad thing (whereas real growth is good). The boom usually occurs because of credit expansion through monetary policy, not real savings, and thus it will always lead to a recession/depression.

Well "booms" arent necessarily bad things as economic "booms" which occur in sustainable markets can lead to not only growth but concrete growth, rather than growth that expands and contracts. This is where agriculture (which is what chinas comprised of monstly) can heavily impact the economic success of a nation because its something everyone needs. And spending based on credit isnt bad, as long as you can pay it back (debts not the enemy).Recessions IMO occur cause of unsustainable markets.

I usually use the term "boom" to define a phony expansion that only comes about as a result of artificially induced credit expansion as opposed to an improved capital structure that results from real savings. Any time credit is expanded beyond the supply of savings there will be malinvestments (because the interest rate is lower than it should be based upon supply/demand fundamentals). You are correct, recessions come about to correct this problem; the new production structure is unsustainable

I'm glad you've realized in your above post that when prices are permitted to adjust resources can be allocated properly. Hence if there is a surplus (surplus of labor is unemployment) the price (wage rate) will fall until the unsold surplus is cleared. The real question is, how can you artificially prop up wages WITHOUT creating unemployment? It's impossible.
