  • Ok, he's not *quite* how I pictured him, a little too ripped. But the voice is dead on.

  • Comment removed

  • I always pictured OT faceless, or well, just didn't really focus on that I guess, but this could work...

Also, I always pictured him with a fedora, for no real reason

  • If you have never heard of Odd, I would totally suggest reading the books before the movie comes out, so far the movie industry has been pretty brutal when making movies from Koontz books, I really hope they get this one right, Willem Dafoe is a good start. I have never cried reading a book untill Odd, damned good story!

  • Never heard of the character or books before today, pretty interesting though. The actor playing Odd looks like a younger Nathan Fillion.

  • Nothing like Mr Jacksons Neighborhood... I know what I like best...

  • So want this to go right..out of any (besides more Frankenstein and The Taking) I want this one to be great. It deserves this..so they better treat it with respect..or they shall face the wrath of daddy Dean..

That there should be enough reason..lol.

  • Wow, he's an amazing Odd Thomas. When I found this on the Dean Koontz site, I started screaming like a madwoman XD

  • For those of you that didn't know: Odd Thomas is being made into a movie. They're currently filming, and DK is pretty excited about this one. Found this out from his website. You can go to IMDB to see a list of the cast.

  • wow i love it! I'm a certified Oddie Fan! Loop me in guys

  • Amazing. I'm huge fan of Oddie! and congrats coz this video is brilliant!!!

  • Wow who makes this I've beed reading the books!

  • Odd Thomas ranks up there with Christopher Snow as great recurring characters in Dean's books

  • uggg spoilers

  • love the books, but not so much the graphic novels. can't wait for the rest of the "not graphic" novels to come out. and you're right, he's just as i pictured he'd be.

  • cool....interesting, thumbs up from me, and a subscribed fan!

  • this is very good

  • Cool check out Cali Dreamers Webisode!!

  • Wow, Odd and Boo look almost exactly like what I pictured in my head.

  • Koontz has a habit of writing terrible, flat characters. Odd Thomas ranks among his best.

  • Looks and sounds average: just as Odd should.

still capture Odds sense of humor: telling a ghost to wait.

    love it

  • I think Odd should have someddity like big ears or pointed nose

  • i've just read the second book and i loved it!!

  • Yeah, apparently Koontz actually had a film screenplay of Odd Thomas, the original novel (the first) and he is very pleased and Ive been always hoping they make a movie, this is a good start, good entry using quotes, clever, not over done, btu what can you ask for using amatuer camera work and acting, not bad though. I cant wait for the movie for real

  • This is awesome. I'm reading Odd Thomas right now and this is pretty much how I picture it. I wonder if Koontz himself has seen this?

  • @whoopiman Koontz has not only seen them but he approved the casting and script. These videos are also on his website.

  • Damn, I liked the look of it (and for the guy who said he didn't think Odd would look like such a pansy, he looks just right, the books describe him as average in pretty much every way) but I couldn't get through one minute of the acting. Such bad acting when I have such rich characters in my head from having read all the books recently killed it for me. Hard to live up to a Koontz created character though. Good effort to whoever tried.

  • i wouldnt expect the guyi read in the book to look like a pansy such as this guy

  • @PointlessVidsInc and why is that? he pretty much acts like a pansy and only manages to get out of situations simply due to the fact of luck

  • I just ordered "Odd Hours" (yeah, I'm kinda late, I know ... ), and to sweeten the wait for the delivery I decided to watch the "Webisodes" (one per day). Great work so far! I like the style and atmosphere! Can't wait to watch the next one tomorrow!

By the way, does anybody know how the song in the end is called? I'd like to play it when I start reading the book as it seems to me, it might add perfectly to the atmosphere while reading. Any help appreciated :)

  • @ANoDE85 the song was made by the production company that filmed the webisodes

  • @EGPcinematographer Thanks for the info! Greatly appreciated!

  • Wow, read all the books but never heard of the webisodes! Awesome job and very entertaining. Looking forward to see them all!

  • LOVE ODD THOMAS!

Hurry up and make another! pretty please?!

  • I love Odd Thomas ever since i read "In Odd We Trust" the graphic novel....only i pictured him blondish

  • I've always pictured odd as a brown haired fellow, thats just how he appeared in my head :P

  • thats cool to find these

im halfway through reading odd thomas

1st dean koontz book. will be reading many more after this!

Bodachs give me the chills. based on real shadowbeings that alot of people have witnessed.

  • @agetube83

i was in the hospital for about seven hours waiting for my girlfriend while she was having an operation done.

i picked up odd thomas by dean koontz, never heard of either of them.this was about 6months ago,i am now on my 12th dean koontz book.he is brilliant.

  • Odd is awesome. go you! i got into this series.

  • Bummer he left the dog behind...What is up with that?

  • the dog was a ghost

  • the dog's a ghost...

  • Shadow, the white german sheperd in the beginning is my Aunt Pam's dog.

  • The dog's name is Boo in 'Brother Odd' and 'Odd Hours'. Is the ACTUAL dog's name Shadow?

  • Yes, or else, when they gave him to my Aunt, they switched his name to Shadow. I'm not sure, I'll have to ask her if she changed it herself or if his original name was Shadow.

  • My Aunt said his name was always originally "Shadow"

  • <3 odd

  • Love Odd Thomas along with everything from Mr. Koontz.

  • Wow. They've really captured the books. Fantastic

  • I should not have watched this...I am only halfway through the first book...the stormy news is just too much for me.

  • i know! ahhh she dies!! noooo

  • Well, that was fantastic. I haven't been a fan for too long, I've read all the books, love em. just giving props to the guy who made this. thanks.

  • OMG..i can't believe!!!!! I love dean koontz's books especially odd thomas...wow, i was expecting this!

  • I couldn't read any books after the first one. I don't want to read on knowing Stormy won't be in them.

  • OMG this is flipping AWESOME! I love the Odd Thomas series!! And now? A movie series too? YES!!! OH YESSS!!!

  • He looks... just like Odd. Perfect fit. And this looks like a really great webseries, som I'm off to watch the rest now *grins*

  • I pictured Odd with longer hair and Stormy with blond hair even though she suppose to have black hair

  • Just wanted to let everybody know I am RE-releasing these at my page in High Def (HD) so come on over and check out Odd Passenger HD!! :)

    Jack Paccione Jr

    Director of Odd Passenger

  • Tranquility Motel exists in the novel Strangers (another Dean Koontz book). I never would have noticed that if I hadn't been reading the book just yesterday.

    AWESOME

  • nice work ;) haha... this is the director of Odd Passsenger, Jack Paccione jr. you're one of only a few that spotted it. Dean found it... of course. If you want to watch EP1 in HD i just put it up on my page. thanks so much for checking it out

    Jack

  • I read all of the Odd Thomas novels and Koontz is my favorite author. If Stephen King is the Rolling Stones of horror writing then Koontz is the Beatles. Does anyone know how i can get Frankenstein Book 3. I tried on the internet but the copies are not available in paperback or hardcover. Even though book 3 came out in 2006.

  • I think i'm in love with Odd

  • I imagine Odd looking similar to the guy that was in ...... Jeepers Creepers - Justin Long. This guy looks ok, and at least he's dark haired as I imagine him.

Interested to hear how other people imagine him....

  • I pictured him similar but with lighter brown hair, more sandy brown. The Dog looked just as I pictured it though, lol. And the flash of Stormy was pretty much how I pictured her too. It just goes to show how well Dean Koontz is at descriptions, it's what I love about his books, that I can picture what I am reading. :)

  • thats pretty good. Five stars. I love Dean Koontz books, and the Odd Thomas books were ones of my favorites

  • wow it's the tranquility motel from "Strangers"

  • Odd thomas would be perfect for Jesse Bardford!

  • I love thew Odd Thomas books and i think the acting behind this was awesome, i think i will be a big fan of the webisode

  • I dont really like this, cause that guy looks nothing like I imagined Odd. Of course everyone imagines him differently I suppose. I did however like his voice ^^

  • i am proud to say that i personally know Anthony Marks (Odd Thomas), he is my best friend's uncle n he's like my older brother..as a matter of fact i was just at his mothers house about 10 minutes ago haha but anyway he's a great guy and if this ever went to the big screens he would be the perfect guy

  • I just started reading the Odd Thomas books (so I probally shouldnt be watching the webisodes lol)...I've only gotten to the first one so far but its really good already. So is there going to be a movie made out of the books or a tv series? I would like to know...Great ending by the way...well I better get back to reading... ^^

  • awesome... i love the odd books. possibly my fav dk books ever, along with the taking. u did a really good job- i imagine him to be just like that! not cheesy at all...and boo was great...boo and stormy make me cry! looking forward to more....where's elvis?

  • Spoiler....

After Book 3, Elvis had moved on. This takes place between Books 3 and 4 ((Brother Odd and Odd Hours))

  • So Sinitra is on now.

  • Moved on....

  • No I mean during this Webisodes Chronology.

  • Sinatra is with him but since this isn't for the fate of the world Odd didn't need his help.

  • I'm Old Gregg!

  • this is wonderful i loved it very well done very well acted.

  • Wow... I actually got chills at the end. A++++++++!!! I'm a huge Odd fan, and this.. Was just awesome! Keep them coming!!!

  • Thanks! I'm the director of OP, Jack Paccione. We have some new stuff coming soon, som please stop by my page and check us out at Escape Goat Pictures! Thanks for the GREAT comment!! :) And don't forget to check out the other episodes!

  • masterfully crafted, jack paccione Jr. at his best...

  • Ive read odd thomas, forever odd, and brother odd, and i loved them all. It's great to see webisode of oddy's adventures. They should make odd thomas movies, or tv series. I loved seeing the white german shepard BOO, in this first webisode.

  • I GIVE THIS A STANDING OVATION

  • i am reading the third odd thomas now, just starting. the firt one was incredibly sad

  • i didn't really like the third as much as the other two. It was still good, but not as good.

  • Niether did I, but I thought the Russian was awesome.

The thing about it was the fact that all the mysteries in it were solved by the end of the story. I was expecting another Black Room.

  • If anyone else read Odd Hours and Fear Nothing, What did you think about the books kinda tying in?

  • i think koontz should tie odd into another chris snow book

  • I am kinda thinking that in the next odd thomas book they end up in Moolight Bay. With Christopher Snow

  • I just started reading Hours, but the Mystery Train sweater has clued me in.

  • i read fear nothing and the first three odds

  • Damn I love Odd Thomas it is the best book Koontz has ever written. Even better than the bad place.

  • The character of Odd Thomas is so well developed (physical description aside) that continuing the character in other forms beyond the books seems natural. This short really shows how well the character could fit into shorter stories and could make a great film or series.

    Beautifully done short film.

  • ODD THOMAS ROCKS, i read these books,and i am 12!

  • This is sooo cool. Yup. I pictured Odd a bit younger, thinner and with longer, slightly shaggy brown hair. I wonder why? Was he ever given a detailed physical description in the books? Great character. He really seems to have come alive for many readers. Myself included.

  • actually that's pretty much exactly how i pictured him

  • We thought that way about Odd too, but Mr. Koontz said he was NOT thin. Afterall he's gotta hold his own in a fist fight as we see over and over. As for age, he's supposed to be 21. Hair: well let's not nitpick.

  • Fair enough and true.

In the new "Odd Thomas" graphic novel Mr.Koontz states that Odd has never really had a solid 'look' but perhaps one day may as the series progresses towards it's end. I wonder - was this particular version of Odd closer in Koontz's eyes to what he envisions?

    Interesting.

  • Yeah, Mr. Koontz was very pleased with Anthony Marks as Odd Thomas. He's very particular about how his novels are envisioned by others.

  • I actually hope that they keep Odd inside the world of paper and pen. An Odd movie just wouldn't be the same.

  • I feel the same, I don't think a movie could live up to the image I have of all things 'odd thomas' in my head.

  • Sure about that? I'd love you to prove it.

  • It's a fairly strong video, especially for a webisode.. but the quality of the voiceover and the voice actor were pretty weak. Otherwise it was good, other than the fact that Odd is different in my head.

  • i liked the his voice, but the actor was a little too...manly for me. idk, i guess i thought he would be paler, and have different hair, or something...

  • i agree. this is not how i picture oddie at all

  • Such shameless display of pride and promotion makes you sound like a total jerk... but I believe you. Koontz is a good writer but many are way better.

  • MJED1987 you're a fucking idiot. Dean Koontz is a great writer. Odd Thomas is one of the best books ever.

  • Great work! It seems "webisodes" has become a new genre for series now. I like it!

  • I love Odd, and Stormy and her "delayed gratification" thing. :D glad I got to watch this

  • I've gott to say i alway thought of odd Thomas being more like Dominic Deegan than a Angsty Middle aged man.

  • These caught me off gaurd. I thought there was a movie coming out lol.

When does the soft cover come out?!?!?

  • That was fantastic!!!!

  • These webisodes capture the essence of Koontz's character so well. I am truly impressed. Well done!

  • okay..odd is cute..like the web concept..can't wait for the book...

  • I love the Odd Thomas webisodes. I have read every book in the series so far and I'm looking forward to the next. A movie should be next for Odd.

  • I love Odd thomas, I'm thrilled he is on youtube but why isn't he in the theatres!

  • One step at a time, one step at a time...

  • We would LOVE to do an Odd movie!!! I hope if it ever come to that, Dean will keep us in mind! :)

  • everything by Dean has been amazing, but the Odd series are an experience! This experience goes for beyond words to the point where Dean is able to enter the very being of your soul and make you rethink life.

  • Odd Thomas is one of my absolute favorites and I absolutely love these webisodes! Thanks Dean :)

  • I love dean koontz books. Thanks alot for uploading this.

  • Great webisode! And the young man playing Odd really portrayed the character - just wish the webisode was longer!

  • hello i just want to say that people who start random conversations on youtube are really wierd and are probably perverts, so who thinks that the NY Yankies are doing well tis season? (i think they suck)

  • Did not think he could do better but he has, what a cool thing, the book willbe great I can tell......

  • Really great job, as usual, Mr. Pacione!

  • Wow! Very well done.

  • Dean Koontz is a great author! I love Odd Thomas!

  • WONDERFUL!! Captured the pure spirit of the character.

  • JACK JR. is my hero! Only an Asian is capable of such a fine masterpiece! Keep it up, ole' wise one!

  • but... i'm a white boy... :P

  • Very very very cool Jack Jr.!!

  • Fantastic. :)

  • I'm so excited about the new book! The girl at the end gave me chills.

  • OH MY GOD THAT WAS SO FING COOL!!!!

  • Can't wait to read the upcoming book. Awesome job to everyone involved in this project.

  • love it! I'm hooked...Can't wait for episode 2!!
