@alyelhadad Here by LHR (Heathrow Airport) it is used almost on every approach/landing but half the time you get your descend clearance to about 4,000ft then are asked to descend with the ILS no matter the weather but then pilots get the choice when/if they want to go manual, not sure if it's the same around the world but that's how it is at LHR.
