  • Great drummer!

  • So it starts nicely, McEntire just minding his own bussines .... until 0.25

maaaan!! that's insane! hahaha I wanna go bungee jumping!! Christ!

  • oh my......

  • GOT the bass tabs! X ) !

  • phoda!!!

  • great band. their last 2 albums (everybody and car alarm) are awesome.

  • this is the second track on "the fawn"

  • the guitar player in my last banded gifted me his old copy of The Fawn about 2 years ago. pretty sure i've played it at least once a month since then. i remember him telling me that he thought they were boring, but i am in so much love with this album that if my dick were smaller, i'd fuck the hole of the disc.

  • That`s hilariously absurd, but Iget your point.

  • killin it live nice

  • killin it nice

  • killin it nice

  • I have a feeling I'm going to bored when I see BSS this sept.

  • that sounds great !!!! piligrams of shinning colours

  • the song is actually The Argument

  • What a sound. That's beautiful live production...sounds like a studio album, minus the cheering.

Insanely talented musicians, in their own right.

  • Thats some beautiful hihat work right there. McEntire kills it.

  • Wrong song, who cares.

    Not a sign of pretentiousness,

these guys are real as fuck. Sweet.

  • is that Eric Claridge on bass?

    one of my favs'

  • Amazing song, amazing band, I hope they come to Costa Rica sometime :D.

  • nice Lou Reed sound on Vocals...

  • yeah this isn't afternoon speaker.

    this is definately the argument.

    both are great songs though.

  • this isnt afternoon speaker you fuck its the argument off of the fawn

  • the sea and cake is one of my favorite bands

  • Hmm, what an interesting band, they're definitely different from what predominate right now, which is refreshing.

  • what is the actual name of this song!?

  • The Argument is the actual name. There must've been a mix-up when Thrill Jockey submitted the video. This song is off of The Fawn.

Afternoon Speaker is a song that's off of Oui.

  • Go John! What awesome hihat technique.

  • Hey, what kind of guitars are they both using? I love the tone. Anyone know what kind of amps/ pedals they use. I cannot get over their tone!

  • Looks like Danelectro Guitars (at least archer's) but just a guess. I had a friend who had a couple. One of them was a baritone guitar...weird to play but cool sound.

    again...just a guess.

    S

  • they make fx pedals too

  • nope...I was told that danelectros have their name on the head piece...

like i said...a guess. weak one at that

  • Those look like Danelectros. I'm convinced that they are.

  • Silvertones.

  • Hey...Guessed right! Danelectros are pretty sweet though.

  • Archer is playing a Danelectro --- all of their guitars are made exactly the same (only the styling is different), so the model doesn't really matter.

Sam usually plays a vintage Fender Telecaster, but I think he broke a string, so he is borrowing Archer's backup.

  • I believe that Archer may be playing a Jerry Jones. Very similar to a Danelectro but higher quality. Very cool guitars. Nels Cline play a 12 string Jerry Jones sometimes.

  • Yeah, but I think it fits more. Especially if you're in the audience - it ups the energy. I also like the ending in this live version better than I do on the album version.

  • this ain't Afternoon Speaker. it sounds totally different.

    pay more attention next time

  • I just got into this band and they're amazing. I've been missing out!

  • wow! LOL archer prewitt is my uncle, and hes at my house right now for x-mas!! hehe we get his albums for free.

  • What kind of guitars does your uncle use? You need to ask him, because I haven't been able to identify it.

And tell him he's a huge inspiration. God, he's good.

  • umm... dang. Well, we were in Louisville kentucky (he was visiting for x-mas) and we went into this guitar shop, because archer's favorite guitar got destroyed by a forklift. From a shipping company specifically for instruments being transported safely. ironic. He was trying to get another just like it... He left tho, and i cant remember... it had two names... i cant recall what it was.. Illl call and ask him if you like.

  • That'd be totally awesome. Specifically, this video is the one I'm trying to figure out. I've seen him use it in a bunch of others. I also think he lets Sam borrow one, because I've either seen Sam use the same exact kind or his red telecaster.

But yeah. You have a kickass uncle. The Sea and Cake are one of my absolute favorite bands. Sheerly amazing stuff they put out.

  • Great band great music!!!greetings from holland

  • This IS the argument. Afternoon speaker is from a different record - it's from Oui. I'm not sure which this is from, maybe The Fawn?

  • Yes, The Argument is off The Fawn.

  • I had the pleasure of seeing them live. The drummer is great. They are all amazing. PLease come back to Vancouver.

  • this is song for the hi-hat

  • i wonder what that studio version would have sounded like with live drums

  • John is brilliant on the drums!

  • Very nice Hi-Hat work. love this band.

  • luv this, more song like this
