if only i could have kept some land that i had someone in the family needed money so they always come to me first then they just take anything of value and sale it and just walk away used and abused
@nate7181 Also, there is pool salt. Just make sure with either that you are getting sodium chloride, not potassium chloride, and that there are no additives. Morton makes a 40lb bag of pool salt that contains no additives, is high purity salt, and costs less than $10.
@pfarnsworth84 Good investment for today, if stuff ever hits the fan, salt and sugar could turn into a form of currency, given their requirements for preserving food, and cooking in general. I forget what the amount of time is one can live with 0 salt, but with no salt the body will start to break down. That being said, it is ironic how plentiful salt is in our everyday diets today.
@deniwest57 S already HTF we are living in it... There was a guy arrested this week that was stealing pigs from a farm... people are getting desperate. People need to get a clue... Nice set up!
@nagaempress Peeople are getting desperate! The media is not reporting on most of it, but we can all see it around us. Huge incrase in petty thefts and just people stealing the weirdest stuff--anything they can get hands on to sell. We have people stealing cows and dogs where we live. Crazy!!
@deniwest57 Seriously, a bunch of window ac units and copper tubing got stolen in my county; even churches were a target. A favourite diner of mine in a larger city nearby had their used cooking oil stolen. A truck with NY tags with a pumper on it, and I live in NC, they must have been pretty hard up.
@TheMan4547 Thanks! Dug out over the summer from outside. Put an old bread truck shell in, then built the wood interior inside it. So zero moisture! Replaced dirt, scatter weed & grass seed so it now looks old & undisturbed/ abandoned.
@ThirtyAcrePrep It's the shell of an old junk bread truck (steel) then we built the osb room inside of that. Great because zero moisture. Won't last forever but should last plenty long as we need it. Thank you!
that is one neat hiding place. I love it. Wish I had one just like it. Though I would add an old mattress and some daily survival things. Just in case you had to shelter there for bad weather or something. A few pillows and an old mattress and some MREs and you're all set. Might even get a radio of some sort and a light source for back up. Oh the fun I would have with that space! lol
@acrosby74 Thanks! There are opportunities everywhere if we tap into our imagination! There is also a partial false wall where some "essentials" are kept..
Very cool!

Is this your storage building? You made it sound like its abandon somewhere other than your own
OccupyCyberSpace 1 month ago
@OccupyCyberSpace Yes, it's ours. But it's 200 yards from our house, out in the woods. We have some really private acreage.

Some of those salt (licks) blocks have minerals in them too.
YiuTeub 3 months ago
@YiuTeub The ones with minerals are brown and clearly labled.

The salt licks are a great idea, the other idea I have seen circulated is buying the bags of water softener salt.

Good job! At first I thought the mess up stairs was your food storage area, but to my shock, you have an amazing bug out location!

Very Cool and interesting. Did you dig it out after the building was there or dig it out and then put the building on top. Condensation or seepage?
