I honestly hate the fact that a person with no religion is "titled" as an atheist. really, religion made it, then take it away. It is no title, it is racism against them.
Hmmm...do you believe in revelations from the bible or not? If you don't, you're actually a deist, not a theist. A deist believes in god, but through naturalistic means and cosmic understanding, not through biblical means.
@13Heathens Deist's don't believe in the Bible or any holy book for that matter. They just believe that some being created the universe and then stepped back.
Hey 13, yea he did receive the douchbag award. I attended the event via "going exterior". It was held at the Grand o'l Spaca Opera near the outter rim of the Kuiper Belt... Where its really hot! Any way, I filmed (recorded) it using my whole track, I can burn a copy, and email your reactive mind... Just be sure to turn off your pop-up blocker, or it'll be marked as SPAM! Of note, LRH gave a special shout out to his Lord and Slavior... XENU, stating "with out him, none of this would be possible"!
Pleasure is sin to the religous. My moral foundations do not require me to believe that Jesus was born to a virgin(guess Mary was asexual),walked on water, died, and then rose from the dead.Fundamentalist Christians would like to lynch those who don't join the flock.Let the religous repress themselves into believing guilt should accompany happiness.I believe in right and wrong, just not good and evil.
I have faith, but I respect the beliefs of Atheists and their ideals, as long as they respect me and mine. I've allowed myself to find comfort in acknowledging the existence of a spiritual world and beings, and if someone find comfort in not believing, then let them be.
That's a respectable thing to say. I find this to be true: a lot of atheists have open minds, but closed hearts, while a lot of religious have open hearts but closed minds. In order for one to truly experience the world to it's fullest they must realize the slight virtues of both (this doesn't mean you have to believe both, it just means you try to understand both).
it is possible for either party to have both open minds and open hearts, but their only difference is wither one believes in a superior being or not. IMHO I believe that extremism from the religious sects couple with the immaturity and lack of being able to construct valid arguments from some atheists are accelerating the distance between these two groups.
so your argument is that because L Ron says it it is a fact? Is this how you establish what you should or shouldn't trust? LOL wanna buy a used car? L Ron says it's a bargain.
I just realized something, everything L Ron is saying is exactly what philosophically/logically inept people (christians and other mystically inclined) want to hear.
I don't trust fang smiling spud heads and that is what L. Ron Hubbard looks like. At least, that was my first impression of him when I was a kid. Nope, didn't trust him based on his looks.
Those are quite the logical leaps Hubbard made about atheism but it is kind of odd considering that later on in the Bridge God is revealed to be an alien implant... a delusion. I just wonder if those unreleased OT levels are supposed to reveal that Hubbard is god. *shrug*

@VanHollam I don't mind the term, used correctly:
theist - believes in (a) god(s), atheist - does not
gnostic - claims to know, agnostic - does not
Hence you can be:
Gnostic theist, agnostic theist, agnostic atheist and gnostic atheist.
Distinct and accurate terms are useful, not insults. However we don't go labling leprechaun disbelievers so who knows...

L Ron hubbard had every reason to insult Atheism. Atheists won't spend money in his church. Scientologists will!
