  • We need more bands like this today. Azz kickin horn section and Lydia's soulful vocals.

  • I forgot to include that the bass player Bobby Vega.

  • Spotted local SF Bay Area trumpet player Tom Poole and I think that is former Son of Champlin David Faray on bone.

  • Awesomely soulful...

  • sounds good ,Lydia Pense and COLD BLOOD.........

  • Cold Blood was one of the great bands in Bay area, sound was much better when Sandy McKee played drums for them. Really gave it that "Funky" sound along with horn section.

  • i saw her at stanford in the 60's, saw her at grants pass in the 2000's, voice hasn't changed a bit

  • very classy version...

  • COLD BLOOD!~ファンキー!ベイ・エリアウーマン "リディア・ペンス"

  • Pure "FUNK"

  • This is real music, took real talent unlike today's crap.

  • Cold Blood, Tower of Power, Incognito! The baddest bands in the land.........Ever!

  • Should have seen her when I was lucky enough to...back in the day...comparable with the great Janis Joplin...better chops as they say...and damn she was hella fine as youngster...but as life rolls on we lose a little in the looks dept.

  • makes me proud to be of Bay-Area stock

  • Sort of like Janis Joplin meets Earth Wind and Fire

  • @ToyotaEquipment Horn sections like this would "KILL" earth wind and fire horn section As a trumpet player these cats were and still bad like Blood Sweart and Tears,,Tower of Power and Chicago.... Earth wind and fire had a bubble gum horn section, not hating just saying .. and Ms Lydia P. as "Great as Ever"

  • @Foreverlifex Smokin' that bong too long, hunh?

  • they are incredibly fonkay!

  • Love Lydia Pense and Blood..!

  • The ultimate San Francisco sound. Cold Blood and Tower of Power. Doesn't get much funkier than this. Great tune.

  • Saw them and other great acts at the Filmore East here in the big Apple.Anytime she stepped to the mic,you knew it was gonna be pretty special !

  • Thanks I remember burning out the grooves in my dorm on this cut, and their entire album,

  • They own that song

  • I remember them smokin' through this number at The Warehouse in San Jose around 71 - a magical night!!

  • Great horn section. Good to hear the song played the way they played it way back when I was in high school. Lydia still has it.

    Yeah, what's with the mullet?

  • she's is still the bomb! You go Lydia!

  • Danny Hull was the sax player?

  • @MrTylawl ,Absolutely Danny was THE "SAX" player plus plus plus , he was so incredibley talented, I knew it the moment I first heard him play in 1973. His was

a unique ability that few ever hope to attain, with years and years of experience.

He was a natural with almost perfect pitch, a rare ,gifted, articulate musician ,after all these years ,he still brings my blood to a rollin'boil. His moves are familiar, his sound is so much more than I ever anticipated, DANNY YOU R THE MAN!lol deb

  • Nice mullet Jeff! Thanks for posting!

  • I saw her in a little club around this time...up at Lake Tahoe, man they were great!
