@retrotvfann : the 1st doesn't fit with the overall tone of the franchise : it's not a buddy movie . So clearly for me it's 3 out of 4 .

as for sequels : latest rocky 6 and rambo 4 were barely acceptable . They're not cheesy as rocky IV or rambo II and III but still are nowhere near the originals . Even stallone was aware of that , he just dug them out because he needed an easy ride . As for Indy only if they stop messing around with CGI and weak charac. As for LW there's nothing more to tell.

I didn't like the 4th LW at all because there were way too many cameo apperrances from other hollywood stars and Maritin Riggs's character was too old and washed up for a guy like Jet lie. The only part I liked is when both Riggs and Roger said at the same time "I'm too old for this shit!" I think they should've stopped at 3. Just my opinion.

If there is a LW 5 I would still see it because Mel Gibson is my favorite actor.

A hit franchise with all 4 movies. They just kickass. If Stallone can do Rocky and Rambo, Ford can do Indiana Jones maybe Gibson and Glover can give us one more WEAPON!

Gibson is also going through a divorce with his wife of 28 years and she is getting half of his billion dollar fortune. So who knows, money talks. I would like to see it but with their ages now probably will not happen but we have 4 good movies IMO.

I read some about it! It seems both Richard Donner, director of all 4 movies, and Shane Black, original writer of LT 1 and partly 2, both had their own ideas. The guys with the money preferred Shane Blacks new script and even want him direction, while Donner and his men are given the door. The biggest problem, though, seems to be that Gibson don't wanna be there for the fifth one, or so they say.

But yeah, I -REALLY- wanted Riggs return just like John McClane did in Die Hard 4...

@retrotvfann While the idea of it sounds like a dream come true, I am SOOOO scared of what that might look like. I have feeling it would go the Live Free or Die Hard route. PG-13, no F-Bombs, PG-13 esq violence, just repeate ideas from the first 4, not a good balance of action and comedy. Part of what made the films so amazing is that 80's movies had balls. They really did movies justice by not making them for the lowest common audience. I have a feeling they would just fuck it up :(

@ryano2099 Actually --- I thought that Live Free or Die Hard was the best of Bruce's Quadrology. I've seen all 4 - multiple times and just felt that the last had more of a darker grittiness to it that worked better. I can live without the F-bombs, to me they speak of low-ball comedy, any common bum can swear. But to deliver a line like "You just took out a Copter with a car! --- Yeah, I was out of bullets." is pure brilliance, comedy and good scripting. Say what you will, I loved 4 the best.

@retrotvfann Rocky and Rambo were OK and both felt incomplete and needed some closure . Indy was a disgrace and they wasted the superb ending of holy grail . Lethal weapon 4 has a perfect ending already meant as a closure as all those old pictures hint at . You want a Indy 4 all over again ? Besides both Mel Gibson and Richard Donner are out of the picture ...The former won't star without the latter to direct and the major don't want to hear about it . Not to mention Mel Gibson reputation now..
