  • Am I the only one who gets goosebumps when Richard sings?

  • @TheOneWithTheScarlet Definitely... but I think I like the other version better. I really like Pat Quinn's singing.

  • @monkeysoulpoet Same. I'm trying to get my hands on actually, know where there's a good mp3?

  • @MmeLEnfer Just the movie as far as I know. I'm amazed by the rhyme scheme in this song.. it's so clever.

  • @monkeysoulpoet Agreed. Richard is astounding... and his rhymes are fleeting.

You're in luck though, I just found the mp3 of the movie version. Want it? I'm not sure if I could find it again but I'll have ago, or email it if you don't mind.

  • @TheOneWithTheScarlet No. No you're not. We're not alone!

  • @TheOneWithTheScarlet No, no you are definitely not.

  • I tried to download this song off iTunes and it's not there!! At all!!! I'm gutted. Absolutely love this.

  • @alicemelinda1 i used video2mp3 =]

  • :) i like it a lot

  • How can there be any dislikes to this at all? It's excellent!

  • Love this track. Enough to have its children. Which, being male is something of a problem. Oh well.

  • @jasonsharples1 When you wish upon a star, anything can happen.

  • @voldystapshoes most people have to watch it 3 or 4 times to get it lol XD

  • Reply to this please :D :) Does Bert look better without glasses XD

  • @siggie999 He looks sexy either way?

  • @StarGazerWithDinos i agree lol

  • My favorite from shock treatment :D Love Richard and Patricia they are both absolute geniuses :)<3

  • fan-fucking-tastic!

  • She looked really uncomfortable in his lap.

    I dont blame him.

  • did they release a soundtrack for the film? it isnt on itunes... :(

  • @XxdaggerzxX Yes they did, im afraid you’ll have to download it off torrent, but still worth it .

  • <3

  • And now brilliant Ryan Murphy is going to remake RHPS. There are like 14 things wrong with that sentence.

  • @EchoKey it's actually richard oh nevermind

  • @EchoKey never happened. It turns out no one wanted it. Also, RHPS was a cult-classic, which means it was terrible in theaters

  • @MisterSynyster They did. I know, it's sad.

  • Fuck a remake, let's see an actual stage production.

  • @happypranksgiving I was in a shadowcasting production of it, but it was postponed indefinitely. :(

  • @ALovelyMelody Aw man. That sucks. I hope it gets done someday, but since Richard O'Brien decided to pretty much disown it, it seems highly unlikely. Hell, he's had 35 years to write this "true" sequel he keeps saying he's writing and he's not even done that, so we might as well just lay Shock Treatment to rest.

A shame, had the film been a smash hit, he'd never have disowned it.

  • @ALovelyMelody i saw a shadowcast double feature of rocky and shocky a few months ago. i've been obsessed with Shock Treatment soundtrack since

  • @kbudz It really does have a great soundtrack. Equal to, if not better than Rocky.

  • @happypranksgiving Wasn't that how it started? That's like hoping for a novelization of the Harry Potter movies.

  • This version of the song 'Shock Treatment' is the best one.

  • 2 people need a bit of Shock Treatment. But seriously, I love this solo version of the song. I love Shock Treatment and Rocky Horror both the same, but the songs in Shock Treatment are, in my opinion, way better than those in RHPS. I love Patricia Quinn's role in this movie.

Cosmo- "How dare this person take advantage of my weakness!"

Nation- "I don't think he intends to go that far..."

  • I absolutely love this song I especially love the part where Richard O'Brien says

"Getcha Jumpin Like a real live wire!" Thats my fav part xD

  • ya need to be the *UMP* OOO SHOCK TREATMEEENT!

  • I think this needs to be remade ASAP

  • @TheLettersLSB rhps is being remade in 2012

  • @richyvandegrift i know it is, it'll be remade by MTV

  • @TheLettersLSB Nu uh...they cancelled it. It was supposed to be in 2010. But MTV stopped it because of the poeple against it, like Me.

  • @GodOfWarMaster13 How can you be against it man its awesome!

  • @TheCGIMaster Nope. The remake coul NEVER measure up to the original.

  • @GodOfWarMaster13 Oh I thought you meant you were against this one xD

  • @TheLettersLSB Absolutely! But this time with a decent script.

  • What are some of the resonses to shock treatment I WANNA SEE IT LIVE

  • 2 people need shock treatment.

  • @ShaeWolf90 awwwwwwwwwwww ya beat me to it

  • This sounds like Madonna's Like a Virgin. Or more accurately, Weird Al's parody "Like a Surgeon".

  • the first time I watched this I was like WTF??? and on the second time I started singing along with it....anyone else?

  • their singing about shocking brad whilst they have just cured blindness

  • I loved the music and Richard O'Brien is a genius but the film wasn't flawless. The script needed a shock treatment.

  • I love the way Burt calles Janet "Jane-ett".

  • It's not a sequel. It's not a prequel. It's an "equal". =]

  • @ishpirate what kind of sence does that make!?!?!

  • @falco12351 "Sense", and what I mean is that this film takes place in the same world as RHPS, but is one of its own.

  • Is it just me, or is the ending a little Pippen-esque?

I really like the show, but that stuck with me...

  • This is a catchy song.

  • @rubinoos1

    Yeah it is.

  • Good song.

  • I thought, when i herd it was a sequel to RHPS, it would be something along the lines of Riff-Raff and Magenta coming back to finish What Frank had started and Brad, Janet, and Dr. Scott would have to stop them. Instead it was something of a disappointment. This was really the only song that even resembled the great Cult Classic it was made after. Kind of sad really. I don't exactly recommend it.

  • i have a weird feeling it's gona get stuck in my head all night

  • if i wanted to do shock treatment as a play how and would i get in trouble? if i did it as a play?

  • @keitarojohn I think Shock Treatment would be PERFECT for the stage, I really do. How do you mean "get into trouble?" Do you mean with Richard O'Brien and the people who made Shock Treatment? Or do you mean with peiople in general?

I think you would have to write off and ask permission, yes. You may even have to pay a small fee, but they're unlikely to disallow it. I've wanted to produce a play of Shock Treatment myself. I think it would be fantstic.

  • I love this solo version! Much more powerful!

  • I LOVE THAT SONG!!!! :D

  • I'm obsessed wiv this song!!!! xx

  • lol i remember when mt dew live wire came out, id pass by and it start singing this song, and honestly its so catchy i find myself singing it when i do laundry XD

i personaly dont think the movie is bad at all, the story line was great actualy but i remember reading obrian had pitched a earlier one to fox but it was switching presidents and he threw out all previous offers, and for the budget and location he was restricted to i think it was fantastic, also is she from scrooged?

  • The film is very different from RH, but when you think of it as a different concept, it makes a lot of sense for today. I think if it was released in theatres now it would do much better. The underlying messages of it reflect the present much more than the 80's. O'Brien should have waited a few decades before releasing it.

  • very well said dancis.... Never as good as RH, but Shock Treatment was just plain fun.

  • Yes, well said danciswith...

  • HOLY SHIT, WTF IS THIS !?

  • Shock Treatment... it's a spinoff of Rocky Horror... same creative team... different actors playing Brad and Janet.

  • although there arent as many people singing this version, it is better than the one in the actual movie

  • @Optimist101 This was in the film during the end credits.

  • This is a fucking beautiful pop song! What a brilliant chorus!

  • One of the kitchiest, with a great hook, songs!!! probably #2 or #3 on any top 10 kitchy songs list...(sorry, Macarena would probably hold the #1 spot for kitch with a good hook..)...ditto for me as well about rhps vs st btw

  • Good song but the movie was a huge disappointment compared to the RHPS.

  • this song is really 80s theme show sounding - in a good way

  • As a old time fan of RHPS I was a bit disappointed when I saw this 'sequel' when it hit the theaters. I think many were.We expected the same cast ,same type of songs and the excitement of RHPS but all new! But thanks to Youtube I've been over and over of "Shock Treament" clips and realized how good this stuff is. I think it was my generation with stubborness and immaturity that rejected it to a hit. My apologies,Richard O'Brien.

  • Shock Treatment was a bit ahead of its time... When it came out... no one really got it... Now, in the era of reality television and media ratings races... I find it to be remarkably reflective of today's society

  • Yes it was ahead of it's time but it should have NOT had anything to with Rocky Horror. The music sounded flat to me. Rocky Horror was on stage for years before it was made into a movie. S.T. seemed to be a rushed effort. I think Barry Humphries should been in drag for his character for this to become more of a camp classic. I hated the lack of camp compared to rocky horror. I was at the Boston premiere and people booed at the end. The movie lasted one week at the sack 57 theater in Boston.

  • true... this would have benefited greatly from any kind of run on stage... it was an effort to cash in on the success of RH... that being said.. when you stop expecting it to be as good as RH, you enjoy it a lot more... It's never going to be Rocky Horror, but its perfectly enjoyable for what it is... a flawed... but still an entertaining film.

  • i wonder how jessica harper feels about this movie.

  • i am a big fan of Richard O'brien, fan of RHPS were my jacket with badges has 6 RHPS badges. I knew shock treatment was a follow on RHPS but it got to a point i didnt think of brad and janet from RHPS and took them as there own aswell as the movie. since i watched it last week the music has stayed i am obessesed.

  • @danciswithwolves you are right, I think slowly it has become a cult movie

  • @danciswithwolves I agree, I've always said that about the movie "Network" as well, the way the news has become more about entertainment than getting people correct, unbiased information. Some writers just understood where the media was headed I suppose...

  • Can someone send me a link to download this song?

  • pssttt, i dont use it, but my friends do, and they got the song and the video from Free Studio Manager.

  • i love this movie and this song!

where can i find this song to download for free?

  • SAME HERE! I can't find this version of the song anywhere!

  • I think that this is from the "remixed" version of the album.

  • two peas in a pod, unfortunately=[[

  • Yeah, people complained about this as a "sequel"! Personally, I loved it. Sure it wasn't like Rocky Horror but it had a great Nostalgic 80's feel to it as well as having an addicting soundtrack. Also, I read part of the script for both sequels this replaced, and this is way better than one of them and on the same level as the other. I regret nothing!

  • Shock Treatment wasn't a sequel per se to RHPS, more like "The Furthur Adventures of Brad and Janet". It's a nice spin off and has some great Richard O'Brien music.

  • @Smoxalot420

I wouldn't even say it's what happened after with Brad and Janet. I see it as more of an alternate timeline, as if the events of RHPS never happened. It reminds me of Stephen King's companion novels "The Regulators" and "Desperation." Same characters in slightly different roles.

  • @ikisscadavers They didn't even mention Frank or what happened. You would think it would leave a bigger impression on them.

  • @narutofreaktenten

That's what I'm saying. It's like an alternate reality. They've never met Frank, Magenta, Riff Raff or Columbia and never went to the castle.

  • @ikisscadavers oooooh now it makes scense i get it now awwwww it has just been made even better thnx

  • @ikisscadavers Actually, it's a couple of years AFTER "The Denton Affair" that is chronicled in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

  • @Smoxalot420 that was the original title for it but the poducers changed it

  • @Smoxalot420

The original concept for Shock Treatment was supposed to be a direct sequel, with Janet having a baby of unknown parentage(Ie, Rocky, Frankie, or Brad) and the adventures contained therein. But when Richard couldn't get the original cast to do another movie, he re-wrote it to be what it is now :3

sorry.. just random bit of knowledge XD

  • @Sanosuku And actually, the script for that YOU'RE talking about (With the child) is called Revenge of the Old Queen. =] You can find it online, but Richard O'Brien never got around to producing it for the reasons you mentioned, as well as the fact that Shock Treatment flopped when it came out, and he didn't want it to happen again. More random knowledge. xD

And on the whole, I loved Shock Treatment just as much as RHPS; it has a different feel to it.

  • everyone hates this:S:S i love it almost ALMOST as much as rocky horror picture show:D

  • SHE IS SO GROOVY

  • shock treatment the little known sequel to the rocky horror picture show.

  • I loved this movie when I first saw it. Great catchy music.

  • anyone who has ever doubted themselves, felt unaccepted or "on the fringe" need only to watch a richard o'brien classic like rocky horror or shock treatment to feel at home. he is the inhibition killer! and we love him!

  • i like the movie version better.... but this is still good. hehehe

  • this song is my fav, richard o brien rocks it

  • omg,you aint lyin'!

  • brilliant film <3 i love this song

  • this is obviously the test version

    or the aprty mix

  • no!

  • This version plays as the credits roll on the dvd...I prefer the in-film song.

  • It's a great version of the song. Love the edit. But can anyone tell me where I can get this version?

  • This is the original studio recording, the only way to get it is to buy the DVD or the Soundtrack with the Orange Label that says LP release 1982, it's not on the Reissue Album:(

  • sadly they cut out the last part of the song on the DVD!

  • somebody give me the website that contains the petition against mtv's making of the rocky horror picture show. =[

  • I'm almost positive they've called it off.

  • i prefer this version of the song to the one on the film

  • "Hoopla, Bert! Nice to see you up and about.."

  • HOOPLA EVERYBODY!

  • love this song

  • this movie would have prob. would have made a bigger impression on people if it came out 1st.

  • The most underrated film of the 80's.

  • i love bert i dunno why he is just such a crazy character and i love this movie i just found out about it recently and now i am so obsessed with it

  • Nell didn't sing in this song? Argh!

  • This isn't the original. She sings in the other one.

  • This is the "single" version

It is only Richard O'Brien singing.

  • well if anyone is interested richard o'brien apparently got drunk at a party in LA and signed away his rights to a RHPS remake. i dunno if its coming out, still a shame he won't be involved

  • No. Fox has the rights to RHPS (I think) and sold it off to MTV. (Ugh...) And now there's gonna be a sequel. It's most likely gonna be horrible.

  • There is a petition against a remake of Rocky Horror or a sequel to it somewhere online.

  • I know. I've signed it multiple times.

  • me too, the first was classic whats the point in remaking its still popular in theaters and among us all after 33 years

  • if there gonna do something with it

finally do something with revenge of the old queen

  • Rocky Horror is WAY better, I can't understand this movie, and Tim Curry ROCKED Dr. Frank N. Furter! :D

  • Really great song, I think a lot of people have got the wrong end of the stick as to what this movie was about... it was never a sequel to RHPS but more of an equal.

It deserves a lot more credit!

  • I have yet to see the movie, but I must say the songs are very catchy.

  • It's not really supposed to be a sequel.

  • Who can't have liked Rocky Horror much if you think a seperate film has ruined it.

  • I thought Shock Treatment was brilliant. It predicted our modern obsession with reality TV shows such as American Idol and Big Brother years in advance. It was almost a warning. You have got to admit, people will do anything to become famous and it can wind up corrupting them. That was the point of the musical. Janet let herself be taken in and Brad was imprisoned because he would not conform. Television can make you go crazy!

  • Bad film, Amazing song.

  • ...cool song, fucked up movie that made no sense...

  • it only makes no sense to idiots!!!

  • the guy Bert Shnick, the guy with the sunglasses, did the voice for Bruce the shark in "Finding Nemo." In case you didn't know

  • Doesn't he do the Dame Edna stuff too?

  • he's barry humphries and he's a famous Australian comedian, yer he does Dame Edna.

  • little known fact for ya, he was also the original Mr Bumble in Oliver!.

  • I think getting used to a new Brad & Janet was hard but they are both pretty good & so is the film if you really give them a chance. I didn't like it or them either the first time I saw the film. I actually like this Janets voice better. Obrien really was ahead of everyone with this reality TV plot in the film.

  • Richard O'Brien is awesome.

  • I love this song but don't like the movie.

  • yeah me too rocky horror was much better

  • The actor's who played Brad & Janet were just so terrible.

  • i thought they were ok, but i liked susan sarandon and barry bostwick better as brad and janet. it's too bad the characters weren't played by the same people :(

  • The singing doctor reminds me of Jhonen Vasquez...

  • lol, i see what you mean about Jhonen.

  • While not as good perhaps as a "sequel" to RHPS, definitely is a good movie, and the songs are quite infectious!

  • O'Brein's solo version with the movie clip! cool! nice editing, by the way!

  • This song is INSANELY catchy.

  • oh also little nell= fit as in that get up =]

  • originally hates this movie as was hoping for something more like RHPS but after a few times i thought its not a masterpiece like RHPS but its not a bad musical. ide say "it has some naive charm..but no Muscle" as far as the genre goes.

  • Sorry to add this a month later, but this and the bitchin in the kitchen are the only songs I liked in the movie, however it's insanely awesome when it comes to hitting the government hard, with big brother tactics, and showing what people are capable of in order to produce something. I thoguht it was wierd. ^^

  • this movie may be a dud, but the music is awesome. i love that 80s genre.

  • The songs in this were BRILLIANT. Shame the movie was sooooooooooooooooo terrible. It's the only movie I have EVER turned off cus it was so bad! It just didn't work. I've never met a Rocky fan who liked this movie. I got it free when I bought Rocky.... hmmm, free, there must be a catch surely!

  • Well...I guess the plot was really weird and hard to follow. I wouldn't say it was terrible. There was a lot of wit that is easy to miss the first few times. The music is amazing. There fact that Brad remained imprisoned the enitre time was annoying after a while.

  • I actually liked it quite a bit, and i've seen RHPS close to 200 times on vid and on stage. I'm a HUGE fan, but Shocktreatment isn't meant to be JUST like Rocky Horror. You have to look at the eras they were made in, and the eras they were meant to make fun of. On top of that, Richard O'Brien is a total hoss.

  • Actually tons of Rocky fans like Shock Treatment.
