@rockmaster002 Well the 7v is definitely a better guitar, but my 98 555 has a jem profile neck and handles just like a 7v. The 7v also has alder for the body which gives better tone and my 555 is basswood.
I would say whatever you are practicing to practice it slow as hell. That's the only way to play fast and clean. It's easy to play fast, but you have to play it slow first so you know what you're playing and your hands will develope habbits slowly and it will carry over when you decide to speed it up. Just get your scales down, connect them, and the arpeggios are the thing that have to be practiced the slowest. That's what works for me.
