  • I want to put Cobra wheels on my 1994 Ranger xlt 2wd, do I need an adaptor?

  • How do you like that pov? I am building a 2.3 turbo in a 60F100 and looked at the sequential or whatever they call that style blow off.

  • i like the ford rangers that are a bit newer then 94 but older then 2000 i have a 98 ranger with only 73 thousand miles on it and i am debating on upgrading to a f150 or completly trick out my ranger i have done nothing with the motor or exaust exept put a exaust tip on it and i put a brand new alpine stereo system in with 2 1200 watt 12inch sony xplodes lol its ba inside except the outsides dented to heck and scratched to heck lol

  • D94R? Matt? it's imaprobowler

  • Gonna try this in a 83 ranger gonna be a fing pain but im gonna do it!

  • motor swap or did you buy the turbo?

  • @redneck1994 You can do a direct swap from a 80s Ford Turbo Coupe Mustang or Turbo Coupe Thunderbird, the 2.3L is pretty much the same engine just built up more for the turbo. I have heard of people even just swapping just the turbo over onto a regular 2.3L. Didn't know if you knew so I thought I would share.

  • how low is she?

  • What year is your block?

  • Sounds really healthy for a lil ranger motor props man real clean build too

  • sounds like an srt4?

  • @pballer2005 yea, it does sound very similar to my buddy's srt4. it's relatively the same size of engine. 2.3 v 2.4 and by the looks of it, this ranger has a catback exhaust like an srt4

  • @pballer2005 Exactly what i was thinking. only at idle though.

  • sick mini in the garage

  • You used an hy35? I thought most of you guys were using the hx35 or hx40?? I plan on building one of these after i get done twinning my 01 cummins!

  • im not into these type of trucks but u gotta respect each other and this is pretty sick

  • how much boost do yuo run??? i bet you could easily get over 20lbs. that motor is fucking strong

  • are you a ranger fanatic? i got one that lives up my holler he never had a turbo or bagged bud he had 3 2wd 2 with v8 1 with the 302 other with a 351 and hes had several 4x4 inspired me i got a 04 and am working on a 3" body do you know any mods to give me better throttle response?

  • such a waste of money, haha.

  • @DehnMan

  • @DehnMan I'm sure this was a lot less expensive than building a 5.0. Find a turbo coupe in a junkyard and your set bro.

  • THANKS ALOT MAN IMA CHECK IT OUT

  • great job on the ranger, i got a 94 xl with 35k on it, thats my new project. i can respect your truck. keep it up

  • nice! I have a 94 2.3 ranger myself, and this video is such an inspiration!

  • Its still just a wittle ford. What a waste of money.

  • I wish they had a turbocharged kit for the Nissan Frontier 2.5L.

  • ranger fanatic from hell :) i have a 2004 4x4 ranger and im thinking about getting a 2wd to either turbo or 5.0 swap or bag i cant decide

  • it really sounds like your truck is gasping for air...

  • thats really nice i want to turbo mine its a 4.0

  • what was ur cost for the motor set up, is it stock internals

  • im a ranger owner! i got the 93 4.0 v6 and its quick but this truck of yours is FUCKING SICK!!!

  • aw its cute!!

  • needs more cow bell

  • @sirbarkus christopher walken

  • Have you had any problems with the position of the air intake?? Mine site right behind the battery and people are telling me that its not gonna get enough air.

  • Hey I have a straight 4 to. Does or has your tranny ever like wait to engage?? Mine does it all the time and i'm worried because it jams into gear when it finally does engage

  • @allenharoman does it have a shift kit or a stall converter?

  • Can someone tell me how that intake is getting air through the firewall pleasse?

  • How do you get the boost gadge to work? cant seem to get mine working

  • how much did you pay for the turbo? how big is it as compared to the t3

  • u should paint your valve cover to match your truck!!

  • sounds a lot like an SRT-4

  • really nice truck man how many hp does this beast devellops? I'm looking into puttin my 2.3l turbo like yours or to swap it 5.0 liter supercharge.

  • these trucks last forever!

  • beautiful truck!

i have a 99 ranger, i just started but i hope to one day have a truck like yours.

i agree, it is a great hobby. i have a bond with my truck that is undescribable, as im sure every car lover has.

  • I wanna see the bagged truck in the garage! Is it running a cantilever setup?

  • Take a look at the March 2010 issue of mini truckin. It is featured in there.

  • Sick, When it comes in the mail I'll take a look.

  • its called a hobby and i enjoy doing it

  • yeah it's a nice hobby don't listen at what those stupid people are saying. cash is made for something. and spending it into something you like is a great way of spending it.

  • @salatinog I dont think anyone should of thumbs downed VJMazlin's comment. That way EVERYone can see what a moron he is. :P

  • if its such a waste why are you watching this stuff?

  • cuz i came across it.

  • @VJMazalin no, u are

  • @VJMazalin your a waste of sperm

  • @VJMazalin

to bad it would smoke anything you drove

  • @VJMazalin i agree! that filter has such big holes due to a small surface area - it ruins the turbo and engines. It sandblasts the components. It reduces power too, you can hear the restriction clearly.

Use a proper paper filter to clean the air. Learn about engines, gasflow and filtration, then you will not be conned so easily.

Anyone using that type of filter shows everyone they know nothing about engines! They believe all the clever sales talk which is a lie to get your money!

  • damn good work it looks very professional

  • Damn, great looking Ranger! And awesome engine work too!

  • It still does not show me the 23 PSI dumbass!

  • Nice truck looks sweet. i was reading the comments and wow Dionysius63 is a idiot and clearly knows nothing about turbos if he thinks they will build up their boost reving in neutral lol.

  • The point I was trying to make " dickbreath" is that is does not show 23psi! You can write anything you want, but proof is worth everything.

  • just stfu

  • Why don't you come try to shut me up little faggot!

  • I want a turbo on my 2.3l 5spd but I dont have thousands of dollars lol Most I have is Ram Air

  • Same here how many miles are on urs?

  • LOL I only have 230,900 lol

  • how much did it cost to turbo charge it

  • damn nice set up i got a 97 ford ranger 2.3l 5 speed and have plans of putting a turbo in it you have given me a lot of ideas with urs nice truck

  • You can also visit the Turbo Ranger Forums web site for more info. For all you bashers I suggest you check this site out and see some pretty quick 2.3 Turbo trucks and cars.

  • Nice very nice little truck, putting a turbo on your 2.3L is almost like having the ford thunderbird turbo coupe or SVO mustang engine in your truck. Very interesting modification what are you running at the track in the ¼ mile.

  • For those who wanted to know my setup. It is in the description to the right of the video.

  • Too bad that Mustang in the back probably beats it and it's probably stock. That Ranger probably has a 800 dollar turbo with another 1500 bucks for the set up.

  • wow your a retard. You mistake a cavalier for a mustang. That turbo would be holset HY35w and it only cost my $300 and its is damn near perfect shape. And I got mabye 1000 into the rest of it. Stock v8 mustang doesn't have a chance. Get the facts before you run your mouth.

  • Well my bad on mistaking the car. Looked like Mustang headlights. But yea what are you running for horsepower. Probably 375ish? MY truck pushes that. Mustang's v6's push out 315.

  • The V6 only has 210hp, the V8 has 315hp. I still have to get my truck on the dyno.

  • O my bad. I just looked it up. Yea your right. Still ain't much for a pickup. I'd rather throw a V8 in it. I'm putting a 302 in mine with a 4 speed auto next year. Hoping to upgrade to a 351 with a 6 speed saleen.

  • niiice setup....tell me some info about the turbo kit i'm wanting to do something like this

  • Cool truck man.

  • All that I see is a 4 cyl. with a turbo set-up. I don't see the boost gage sporting the 23psi. I don't see a 0-60 run. All I can hear is someone punching the gas.

  • Then you haven't looked hard enough at this other videos.

  • stop hating on this mans truck. it looks like a good build to me. and you wont see any boost until shes runnin. i belive it can push everybit of 23lbs. a stock t3 can run 28psi max.

i have a turbocoupe (all stock) and im running 18 lbs (well stock besides i removed the stock boost controller) on an IHI turbo. 23lbs is deff realistic. i kno guys running 30lbs on a built 2.3T

good truck man, i plan on building a 2.3T ranger when i buy a truck (cant fit everything in a 2dr :P )

  • :06 Gauge says BOOST

  • Yeah, I saw that, but it's reading on the vacuum side at idle, where it should be, but only goes to about 4 or 5 on the boost side when he revs.

  • Not going to build significant boost w/o a load on the motor, luck to build that much just sitting there.

  • one point are u trying 2 make dumbass, its called a manuel boost controller

  • and manuel is spelled manual dumbass!

  • wat kind of set up is on ur truk

  • fuck stun 4 cylindre

  • Im diggin' the 03 Cobra wheels on there...nice truck dude!

  • turbo ranger garett serie..... exhast pipe or eaton surpercharger m45/m62

  • are there any turbo 2.9l? All i see are 4 bangers

  • Where did you run your oil return and did you take out your heater?

  • omg its soo cute its like a mini lightning :P

  • Did you turn the intake manifold? What mods did you do to the engine?

  • this guy is a goddamn idiot, the 2.3 ford started in the early 1970's as the pinto engine and was used for over 30 yrs by ford! making as much as 225hp in the 1980's in t-birds, merkurs and mustangs

  • as an estimate how much horses do u think ur putting out

  • ill buy ur right front side fender i need blue one cause mines red and dnt match truckk lol......

  • Hey, i have the same 93 u have. i want to know where can u find the racing parts 4 it? and would easy was all the hook up like the tuning?

  • where did you get the turbo and what muffler do you have on it?

  • can somebody tell me were i can get a turbo for my 2000 ford ranger xlt

  • Which motor does your XLT have? You can turbo any motor, but it'll require work. My suggestion to you if you're still looking into it is to goto Rangerpowersports . com

That's just about all they talk about turbos and v8 swaps.

  • what ecu? i see your runngin maf and dis coil packs.. so its not a la or p series

  • Late on the reply but incase you still haven't been told or haven't found out. All the newer Ranger motors have coil packs and MAF sensors. Especially this year.

  • what kind of ecu tuning went into this setup and are you using a stock ranger motor or a 2/3 thunderbird swap

  • whats the info on the truck? V6? 4cyl? model whatever?

  • it a 4 cyl if u look at other videos most of the turbo charged ranger are 4 cylinder and the 4.0 v6 are supercharged but if u get a 3.0 like mine u can have both turbo and the charger

  • which 4 cyl, the 2.3l? i kno 80s mustangs had those same engines with turbos already installed

  • very nicely done Ive been toying with the idea of dropping in my spare turbocoupe 2.3 in my 91 ranger but I think Im going to go sprint car spec 300hp n/a instead... what turbo did you use and how did you set up the fuel and programmer also did you use the larger cobra throttle body or did you go after market... have you upgraded internals and how much power are you putting to the wheels

  • may i ask what size motor that is and where you found the turbo to fit it? was it or a kit or all custom work?

  • i can tell you its a 2.3l and judging by the look of it he got the turbo out of an old thunderbird murker or svo mustang

  • most likely mustang, it's the mitsubishi manufactured motor

  • mitsubishi motor? you don't know what you're talking about. The Ford 2.3 is not made by mitsu

  • that's what i've been told. heard it from a guy who has worked on mustangs for 20+ years.

it is a cool engine tho, but for too heavy of a truck.

  • mitsubishi worked with dodge buddy thats why the eclipse looks so much like the eagle talon, they are basiclly the same car. that turbo is from an svo mustang.

  • that makes a lot of sense

  • Yea, either, A turbocoup, Mustang or Murker, No way in hell its a mitsu its stamped on the block in a few places (ford)

  • Well, he lied. Mitsu is in bed with Chrysler. Now the NEW 4 cylinders in the NEW rangers are built by MAZDA but not Mitsu. The 90's Ranger motors, the 4 cylinders were Lima motors aka built in Lima, Ohio at a Ford production plant.

Sorry bud, but that guy got this facts mixed.

  • lol ok i would say but if u really wanna see a bad ass truck look up 02 ford ranger 427 cobra

  • me likey

  • well i have a 94 of this same exact thing...

and i wanted to know where you got your turbo kit.... how much would it run me to put all this together and prep my truck to withhold all the power... and how much power are you making?

  • it's beautiful... props on the build!!!!!

  • I see you deleted the air box!!

  • i prolly have around 3000 into the motor, with my tuning equipment plus head work and other misc parts

  • damn man very nice im gonna turbo my ranger to its a 3.0 ive already doen a few mods to it

  • Cool, you have alot of what I want to do to my truck. I don't know if thuis is rude to ask, but about how much do you have invested in the engine? What was the hardest part?

  • robertini4 what are you asking?

  • 20'' ??

  • its a 2.3 turbo

it has a Spec Stage 3 Clutch, Holset HY35W, 46lb Injectors, Stock FPR, 90mm MAF, LA3 ECU, J3 Chip for tuning, HKS SSQV BOV, 3" Exhaust all the way with a Dynomax Bullet Muffler, High Flow Stainless valves. Head has a 3 angle valve job.

  • not bad.. it has a prolly a 2.0 turbo

  • sick truck.. reminds me of my old 92 ranger!

  • agreed nice truck

  • NICE TRUCK!!!
