  • WTF? Drug everyone!

  • Read Allan Schore: "affectregulation." The mother is the "high-risc" factor, not the child. Schore‘s work has been compared to Einstein’s theory of relativity!

  • I was worried this guy was about to defend the idea that boys are inherently mentally ill, assuming ODD is an illness. Glad to hear his mentioning the "nervous parent" (read: the OVERPROTECTIVE MOMMMMMMMMMY) as a causative element. Also, agree 100% that aggression is not always bad - sometimes you must stand up in the defense of others - that's called SPINE, not ODD.

  • , the one kid that is "off" is expected to be subservient at all times. When a "normal" kid gets into a conflict it is just "what kids do". However, when the one child who is "off" demands to be treated as well as the normal kids instead of being the constant target or ridicule, the teachers see this as a "threat".

Meanwhile, when the "bad kids" act up its okay its only a "threat" when the "weird" kid doesn't "stay in his place".

Also, teachers expect the "weird kid" to remain quiet, akward, and, quite frankly, inferior. While teachers allow "bad kids" to act up, (cont.)

  • The parents of the kids I watch have 2 opposing views on discipline. One babies the kids and gives warnings and chances. The other screams orders and is heavy handed. The result: Two defiant, aggressive, incoherent (not understanding others plight or feelings) children who CONSTANTLY even at 5 & 7 test the limits which seem not to have solid parameters/
