  • looks like the vid production budget went up a notch. nice aerial shot at the end. great reviews btw.

  • @couchkamote Not so much the budget, but maybe our excitement! Thanks for watching. -Peter

  • nice hinges, nice tyres and nice bike overall !

  • @dimaflour thanks and agree, this might become our best selling Tern - Bert

  • Great vid! I'm from San Diego & looking to purchase the Link D8. I've tried contacting Tern dealers in L.A. but haven't received a response about their stock. Most likely I will have to have it delivered. I have a question about customization. If I wanted to buy street and trail tires, would I be able to fit them onto the stock wheels? Also if I wanted to buy different handle bar styles are there any available that wont hinder the folding process? Thanks and I enjoy all the reviews!

  • @mmeneses177

You can fit different tires but cannot go too extreme. Wide off-road tires will not fit but up to 1.95 is not a problem. The handlebar needs to stay, its fully integrated and cannot be customized. (this is true for most folding bikes) -Bert

  • great vid. i have a question about tern, i want to invest on the tern link c7, but how does it handle going up hills? i've read that the c7 isn't the best link, but very basic. also, how is it in comparison to tern joe c21?

  • @elizajaya The Link C7 doesn't have the nice hinges that Tern is known for. It is a more basic bike and, I think, you'd be far better off saving up and extra $200 for the Link D8 which has the nice hinges and better components. This will give you a far better ride than the Link C7. The Joe will be a bit more stable with 26" wheels and feel more like a regular bicycle. -Peter

  • 8 seconds to unfold. Not bad :-)

One question though: can the cables be routed so that they don't stick out so much when the bike is folded? I saw a picture where someone rotate the handlebar backwards so that the brake levers point down, which takes up some slack from the cables. Is that possible? Also, could the cables be made shorter?

  • @fenegroni The handlebars do rotate when you open the quick release on the handlebar. This will take up some slack but I wouldn't recommend shortening any cables. If you did it may interfere with the folding. They leave cables loose so that everything can move freely. -Peter

  • @nycewheels Not sure if that is really necessary though on a bike without telescopic handle post.

On my Dahon Mu P8 once the handle post is fully extended ready to fold, the cables are really tight. My guess is that you can shorten the cables on the Tern bikes a fair bit and still have no trouble with the fold; but it's only speculation at this stage. I would love though if someone with the resources ;-) could prove this point...

  • its the copenhagen wheel from that tv show Weeds!!! ha, jk cool bike tho

  • Is black an option? I see it in your page but in white..., can we order a black one?

  • @jpsegura We currently only have black. the white is a limited edition and not currently available (I think) I have changed the picture on our product page already to show the black bike. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for watching. -Bert

  • Who plays the music? Fits great. Jazzy and New Yorkish:)

  • @mangogarlic That's Peter with his band. He has recorded 25 songs in one session for our Youtube channel. Our bike-nut musician, pretty cool, eh? -Bert

  • Nice video and interesting folding bike. Thank you.

  • @electricyclist thanks, I think we will sell a ton of those, seems to be well made and the ride feels very solid. -Bert

  • what kinda heli are you guys using? and what camera? vid looks amazing!

  • @livemoonbday We are flying a Gaui 500X Quad flyer with larger motors and sometimes a wireless video down-link so I can frame the shot better. This was shot with a GoPro HD but experimenting with a GoPro with modified (narrower) lens as well. Its hard to get rid of vibrations with 4 motors but we are slowly getting there. Stay tuned, many more cool shots to follow. -Bert

  • How much does it weigh, in the real world?

  • @bmocmw According to Manufacturer specs its 25lbs. Our shop is closed for 2 weeks over the holidays so can't really put it on the digital scale until then. -Bert

  • Like the 9 speeds with wide-separation of ratios for hill-climbing & flat-speed. Might like a version with mountain for bad surfaces (gravel, asphalt, sand) in my home area. Puncture-resistant tires are a nice feature. Thanks for the info & good video.

  • @sltomsik You are correct, this will be our most popular commuter folding bike. Great quality, good price and rides like a dream. -Bert

  • Great review. The use of the helicopter camera, handheld camera and excellent audio in conjunction with great editing make your videos so professional. Thanks.

  • @subukai Thank you, they are fun to make but also take some time. Glad you enjoy it. -Bert
